Worship Bass Pedalboards

I've had many different pedal boards for worship over the years. I'm on the waiting list now for a Fractal Audio FM3. I had a Fractal Audio AX8 a few years back, loved it but the UI was a bit much for me. The FM3 has what looks to be an easier UI, so hopefully it will be a keeper. Now, what's that verse about patience...…..
The output is line level, so in theory, yes - you could use a TRS > XLR.
However- you still have no ground lift, or protection from phantom power.
Take that as you may, I know people's situations differ.
Using a DI solves both those problems, but once again, that may not be a problem for some.
Our pastor uses a Stomp and runs it in stereo (L and R outputs) and goes TRS to XLR to the board with no problems. Has anyone confirmed that it in fact does not have phantom power protection? I'm positive we have ours turned on and the unit has been fine.
Interesting. On his setup he has both outputs wired to an XLR patch bay built into the board, so he's only ever plugging in an XLR connection to it.
Easy solution to Phantom is the Phantom Blocker by Triton Audio.

Quick question for using the Rolls Pm 50 monitor in your set up. Do you run the signal to the Rolls and then the Di/preamp or di/preamp then to Rolls. I am asking because I recently bought a second hand Fractal Ax8 and I noticed I get a small hiss when using the Rolls to monitor through headphones. I am wondering if it is because the Ax8 runs at +4db and the rolls says -20bd on the XLR input
I’m debating trying the Sadowsky preamp/DI again. It’s small, sounds good, simple. If I do I may add the old green Big Muff Pi I have laying around. Need a board bigger than a Nano/+ unfortunately, but...

No matter what you choose for pedals, you seriously won’t regret obtaining a DC7...
Right. Even if I stay with the Nano, it’s be nice to have one thing to plug in.
I come straight out of the DI and into the Rolls with no noticeable hiss. You can change the input gain (Line vs Mic) to see which works better. If the volume knob on the Rolls is more than halfway up then you might have a weak input signal, or even the reverse with having too much gain. It should get stupid loud with most sources at 50%.

I lowered the output gain of the Ax8 things quieted down. Then I tried the 1/4 out to the monitor input. Dead silent at half volume. I must be overloading the XLR. Side because I go from crazy loud to distorted as the gain on the PM50 goes up. I ordered a PM351 so I can keep on the instrument side of things and heck I might even sing once in a while so I can use that side too.
Well, a new power supply (CIOKS DC-7) with LA-1A adapter (Thanks Dave) is on the way. No matter which way I go, good power is covered.

Yeah, I'll be happy with it for sure. Now o decide (again) if I want to go bigger. I'm torn as I get by just fine without effects, yet when I submitted a track for the band, he added distortion to the bass track (Shut Up and Dance) so I'm kind of feeling like I should have a drive of some kind. I have an old EH Big Muff Pi and I like it. Has a volume so I can control the amount which I like. So if I add that, I should probably add a filter. I don't think I need an octave. Chorus? It's pretty dated, but sometimes sounds nice with fretless. Reverb? Not really a bass thing, except for solos in jazz gigs maybe? IDK.
