Sounds great, and the variable cab sim is great for running direct into a PA system. That being said, I may be flipping the Fliptop since I already have a VT bass that does the B15 thing (plus more) without having to use my Radial JDI. The Fliptop does one thing, but it does it extremely well.

Looking at the demos so far, it looks like distortion model 1 (and maybe 2) might be the only usable of 5. At least for worship. Love the concept and form factor though. It does sound good.
I agree. I really like the idea of the unit as a whole, but, the distortions seem like B7K1, B7K2, B7K3, B7K4, and B7K5. Would have been better if a couple selections were more "Vintage Microtubes" geared. I think for $100 more (or for the same price used), I would rather have an HX Stomp.
A cable adapter should do it if you're running into the XLR input. The 1/4" monitor input is supposed to be TS or TRS.

My thought process was that based on the the voicing of the mids, 3-5 would be the ones I'd try to turn the gain down on for use at church. Granted 5 would only be for "moments" here and there.
Different churches mix differently, so maybe we have different needs. It's also entirely possible that I misinterpreted how this pedal works.

I'm more of a Tone Hammer and MicroSynth guy, so I don't really like that Darkglass clank/fizz that comes along with their distortion models. It's all about the mids, I just don't like the Darkglass kind.

Oooh. If you like midrange grindy distortion, you should try a Tech21 YYZ and/or EBS Billy Sheehan Ultimate Signature Drive. So grindy and delicious. I'm not sure how appropriate they'd be for worship, but I love them both. The Sheehan into the YYZ is pure magic. You can play a note and it will ring out forever with that grindy distortion that changes as different harmonics pop through. It's amazing.
The YYZ holds its own well in a worship setting and I would definitely recommend it because it's not a do one thing well type of pedal. I wish the mix would have been better on the recording for the last song I used it for, but the team really noticed in their IEM mix and some smiles of approval circulated on the stage.
I also have a Darkglass AlphaOmega and I don't find that one lacking either. With the EQ controls you can bring the mids out no problem.
This one isn't as common, and it's definitely on the more expensive side, but the Free the Tone "Bass Blaster" BB-2 is among the elite of elites when it comes to mild overdrives. I would expect most people to find that it fits perfectly in a worship setting. I use it at church, and it's just perfection.
Just ordered a Sonic Research 300 tuner to replace my still working but the light is always on TU-2. I've had that tuner pedal as long as I can remember, at least 20 years. It'll be fun to try something different.
Cool. Have you ever compared this to DG Vintage Micro Tubes?
I had a BB-2 briefly. Sounded extra good when used in conjunction with a Damnation Audio Loop Blender to mix the clean tone back in. I ultimately ended up keeping my Free The Tone Black Vehicle because--to my ear--it sounded even better than the BB-2 and has a blend knob. Both Free The Tones bass overdrives are remarkable. There's an early version of the BB-2 in the classifieds right now, and a Black Vehicle priced as a real steal.

I've tried a lot of OD's, but the Microtubes is one that I haven't.
I've really been wanting to compare a Black Vehicle with my Bass Blaster. Do they have a similar tone, with the Black Vehicle just having the additional dry blend, or are they very different?
I thought they had pretty different characters. The BV-1V has a lot more tonal options. In addition to the blend knob, it also splits the tone knob into separate bass and treble knobs, adds a boost, and then these little controls for controlling the pre- and post-boost mix. Very flexible. But, fundamentally, I think they have different sounds. The BB-2 is warmer and has more presence, but the BV-1V is more focused and does light overdrive much better than the BB-2. If I used dirt at higher gain levels I might have kept the BB-2 (in a Bloop--that low passed clean blend really made it shine), but for the stuff I'm playing at church the BV-1V is a better fit. YMMV of course.
A healthy glass of Cabernet, offsets the spinning...so I've been told.
I call it good, when the LEDs just flicker in place.

Current board is just tuner -> micro synth -> tone hammer. Looking to expand by adding another drive (Moonshine v4, it has a blend knob) and some modulation capabilities at the end or even "dry out" and an "amp out" with the stomp.
