Worship Bass Pedalboards

So I finally got a pedalboard and here it is! Forgive the messy cabling, I have some custom patch cables coming from Revelation Audio Cable Co (Vancouver) in a week!

My current signal chain is Polytune 3 > UT&T LAB > UT&T Tone Druid > Horrothia Type One Chorus > BDDI. The pedalboard, Aclam, is also pretty cool as it uses no adhesives, yet holds the pedal with extreme vigor!

Obviously there is a massive gap waiting to be filled and I am currently torn between (eventually) ordering a 3Leaf Audio Octabvre or a 3 Leaf Audio Proton. Thoughts?

The compressors on the Stomp are OK (IMHO) but not up to the level of the Cali or other top of the line compressors. I use a couple of patches that I bought and have tweaked them to where they sound great for me but I have been thinking of getting a Cali compressor to replace the Darkglass VMTD I have on my board with the Stomp (and Morningstar MC6). I probably don't need to because of the sound at our church - pretty good but NOT the best I have heard.

Pro tip (as an FOH Engineer, bassist second): if you are planning on using compression in your signal chain, just let the sound guy/gal know. I mix differently if I know you have compression on your board. Sure I'll still run your channel through a compressor, but I will adjust it so that the musicality that comes from compression is due to your pedal, and that mine is just there for overall dynamic control and to limit fun "surprises".

Brett, shouldn't you mix/process based on what you hear and what the mix needs?

This is both a yes and no situation.
Because on a lot of consoles compression is pre-aux send, any compression that I do will affect the ears of the musician so I have to be mindful of both the FOH mix and the monitor mix. So, if I know a musician has a nice compressor on their board, I will likely communicate with them to increase/decrease their compression directly at the source. If they don't really care, then I take care of it FOH side.
The better the monitor mix, the better they play. The better they play, the better I can mix the house.

I really like the NBP-5 model in my NUX MG-30. I'm sure the real thing is even better!

You can be on this thread and not give in to the pull to the dark side. I have a tuner, compressor and a dirt. That's it. It's fun to look. Just like it's fun to lol at amp threads and bass threads. Self control and knowing what you have is all you need. I was reminded of that today at a gig. My little amp sounds great. No one complains. My bass sound awesome. I don't need any new/different gear. It wouldn't be better, just new or different.
