Shoes, Bass, Board for this morning

All tracks I'm using the Broughton RFE > Empress Bass Comp > Stomp (B15 block in to a Parametric EQ block) > Khan DI. This is the "base," clean tone. Bass is a Lakland Skyline P with a Fralin stock wind pickup. Strings are DR Lo-Rider Nickels.

1. Only King Forever - Clean in the verses, Obsidian 7K block in the choruses. Chorus on the Bridge. I also hit a Bass Octave block on the very last note of the song to give some oomph in the house at the close.

2. Living Hope - Clean throughout the whole song until the final choruses (9:36) where I hit the Obsidian 7K. Also hit the Bass Octave on the last sustained note of the song. Something I do often.

3. Come Out of that Grave - Clean throughout until the final choruses (13:32 & 14:26) again using the Obsidian 7K. I also use the Bass Octave block in the bridge (12:26) and once again on the final note of the song.

Oh also. For those who follow this thread. The Stomp preset is essentially the same as @dwagner 's he was talking about a few pages back with a few tweaks. Really nice preset!

I set up my pedal board around the MG-30 this weekend, including a hack to give me volume swells while retaining echo and reverb trails. In the effects loop, I went loop out>passive volume> Zoom MS-70CDR>loop in. Putting the loop block before reverb and delay lets me get the expected response for ambient sounds, instead of being forced to use the built-in expression pedal's only volume option at the very end of the amp/effects chain, that reduces or kills the entire sound including delays when that pedal is used. The silver pedal at the left can switch two additional effects blocks off and on and comes stock with the MG-30. The Harley Benton pedal at the upper right is an $85 2x50 stereo power amp that I can hook up to a pair of lightweight passive PA speakers if I can't go direct.

I really like the reverb, the only thing I wish it did was allow you to cycle through the presets using the footswitch.

I have been close to buying the ekoverb a few times but never pulled the trigger. I also have the mini delay pedal and had been using it for guitar. That one was a little noisy on certain settings.

Any of y'all play with flats? I bought a '74 P Bass that I love with flats. Kind of curious how it'll sound for worship - sounds killer by myself, but in the context of worship music I'm a little hesitant. My rig is a Helix LT into a Noble.

Flats on a P is a great sound. I use it for worship, I use it for covers, it's just a classic tone that works. I didn't feel this way until very recently and I've been playing for decades. Anything into that Noble will probably sound great.

I exclusively use flats on all of my basses, most of which are P Basses (passive), or PJs (active). I get lots of compliments on my sound from the soundtechs at the 3 churches that I play at.
I use TI Jazz Flats on my Fender Custom Shops, and mostly Sadowsky, and LaBella on the others.

You can't really go wrong with flats these days. Way nicer on the fingers and still sound killer.

I'm even more heretical and blasphemous in that I use the low four of a 5 string LaBella DTF set BEAD tuned on my Sterling SUB Stingray 4HH. I'm a baaaad guy I guess lol.

That's really interesting; you have almost exactly the same EQ settings on your Terra Nova preamp that I have on my Terra Nova amp! I thought it was just my choice of strings making it less bassy- maybe its the TN itself?
Sounds killer with a slight bass boost though! That's something Eden have always been really good at- whatever way the bass control is voiced, you get a really strong tight low end out of them.

Umm, I was gassing for something different than my Lakland 5-stringers. Dug out my mim Precision, and for $45, NBD tuned BEAD. After 15 years playing 5-string basses, the Precision neck feels positively dainty! Yes I'm a Philistine, don't care!

Still so pleased with my setup. Matter a fact the main church I play for right now decided they liked my Pedalboard sound so much that we are selling a like new Ampeg Heritage 410 Cabinet and a Amped SVT 3-Pro Head.
