Thanks! What I love about the Terra Nova is how responsive the EQ is. A little bit really does go a long way, it makes it easy to dial in a very precise sound.
Going digital this weekend, needed some effects.
P bass. Fresh round wounds. Pick. And a blower box for one section. Someone's not following the flock!!
If I only played a P I'd have one with flats and one with rounds for sure.

A guy at my church does this, and it makes so much sense. This may just be me, but I find it funny how a P solo'd sounds a bit off compared to other pickups, but when it is in a mix, it is absolute perfection.
I think this is a pretty common thought process. I want to like a P as they sound so awesome when I hear them in a band or on a record. Yet, when I play one at a store it doesn't sound as impressive. I think they really do benefit from a mix.

I know you didn't ask me, but that's a really cool little SVT AIAB. I had one a while back. It became a bit redundant once the Broughton SVPre arrived, which clearly has more tweakability. But the SSP is a really good one, and I'll bet sounds great with an Ampeg cab sim. I recall in boost mode it has one of the most natural sounding "pushed-tube-amp" overdrives I have ever heard.

I came to talkbass asking if I should get the Ampeg or the Catalinbread SFT as SVT flavored preamps and got schooled (in a good way) and ended up with the Silver Peg.
The Broughton would have likely been a more powerful choice but the Silver Peg is $120, small and simple which was perfect for me.
I pair it with a KT88 power amp sim and an Ampeg SVT 810 IR and it sounds great.

Do any of you use a fretless bass on a regular Sunday service ? I'd love to learn and it feels like it could fit when the vibe is more acoustic but I've never seen one.

I think there are quite a few that use them Sunday mornings. Pop over the the Worship Bassist's club and ask there. You might get more response. The Praise and Worship Band Bassists ClubNot a pedalboard but related because you plug it into the pedalboard….

When the house bass amp is a dual 18" subwoofer with a power amp. Whoa. Lol. Instant diarrhea for everyone in the first 15 rows, at least. On the plus side, after almost two years with no gigs and the constant buying and selling of pedals and preamps, at least I finally got the chance to bring out the big board and hear how it sounds. I can safely say I'm done now. For real. Well, I just need an octave pedal someday. Maybe a synth. Maybe a fuzz. But THEN I'm done. For real this time.
Thought this was super intriguing. Check out the other images on this post to see the explanation/signal path. Has me interested in trying something similar myself.

Any time I have played a "large" worship event. (Pro's in my mind). They just want a clean DI from me. No effects. "You can run those to your amp, but just give us a clean signal"
If you think about it, and really listen to your bands live performances you may find that there really isn't much room for delays, chorus' , etc. what matters is your tone. Speaking of which I use an Aguilar Tone Hammer pedal DI. I find pro sound guys boost me more in the mix when I do that than showing up with a large pedal board. But that's just my experience.
