Anyone ever try a Walrus Audio Badwater?
$300 for Comp, Drive, Preamp, DI.
On a side note, I saw Nate with Porcupine Tree on the 30th in LA. He RAWKED! Played some really nice fretless.

I rarely like any drive I hear on YouTube. Drive is about the last thing I use at church. Something subtle sometimes for a few songs. But the rest and price point seem pretty nice.It sounded great until the drive section. Not my kind of drive.
I wondered if anyone else caught that."You can boost your output by 20db, right after sound check."![]()
Yeah. Me too. And now that the guitar player at church has one and it’s working out fine, it’s even more tempting to just do the same for bass.So many talk about the Hx stomp. Starting to get me curious!

I was daunted by the price, but then I tallied up what's currently on my board. That's not a bad deal, just a bigger budget-bite!I actually use a Helix LT. Love it!

Just received another QC this week…Not going to make the church buy one as it’s too much money and overkill, but if I like the Stomp I might give the Quad Cortex a look for my cover band needs.
I had an HX Stomp for a very short while…just couldn’t intuitively navigate thru it
I think I'm going to pull the trigger and have the church buy an HX Stomp as our "leave at church" bass DI. Get a 1/4" TS to Male XLR adapter/cable and I should be good to go.
I'll see how that goes and then evaluate if I want to make a big change for my personal rig for the cover band.
There are a lot of great boosts out there. I highly recommend the Broughton BBA. It just makes everything sound better . . . and louder: https://www.broughtonaudio.com/product-page/bbaA couple of my friends who have the HX Stomp ended up having to get a line isolator for it to work well at church. While I am not exactly sure what was wrong before, I know they all ended up getting one.
You will have to give us your thoughts after you have had one for a while.
