Inspired by the Tamagotchi toys of the 1990s, its OLED screen greets the player on the first power up with a small egg.
When an incoming signal is detected, the creature reacts to it in realtime, as is shown by a set of fun on-screen animations.
As the instrument is played, experience points accumulate and a progress bar slowly fills up.
Playing longer will result in experience multiplication bonuses being applied in real time, adding to the enjoyment of the game.
When the maximum amount of experience is reached, a level up screen is shown and transitions into the next evolution of the creature.
Progress is saved between power cycles using a coin cell battery, in the spirit of old cartridge-based console games.
