Love it! The Locust Star piqued my interest awhile back, that's one I'd still like to test out.

Love the setup. And you might have sold me on the Mira. How often do you think you will be using the micro synth?
The church plant I play at often uses a lot of Bethel songs, so it should get some good use. Last week at my main church, before I bought the MicroSynth, we did a big anthem and I used Octave/Fuzz/Chorus + Pick to significant effect. Lots of positive comments on the immense sound. But it was a lot of device stomping on/off for me, so I thought just get the MicroSynth and have the total sound ready. Still learning the MicroSynth. I found photos of about 5 top worship bass player boards and made note of their settings.
That’s great, thanks. I have some synthy settings on my stomp but I tend to be shy about it so I’m hesitant to get a MS even though I love the tone. I’m guessing that in the mix it fits much better than in isolation

Here’s an update from last time.
New to the line up:
Origin affects DCX bass. Amazing. Sometimes I’ll use my Xerograph as a slow sweep with expression pedal which is why it made an appearance. Still waiting for my Arkham oracle V2 to come in and I’ll put that on here too.

It is extremely dynamic. And the drive is very transparent. Not much “character” at all. Which I absolutely love. Clean when I’m just playing and dirty when I dig in. And adding a pick just elevates it more. The preamp it’s emulating does this too and origin effects is spot on with this pedal. It is quite pricey though, which is my only negative. But I believe the sound improved enough for me to justify it. Let’s just say the dcx has enough drive on tap (that sounds amazing) I don’t need the ags, or additional drive pedal on the board. I also does some taming of the Ehx BMS. It adds weight and presence to everything.
I’ve owned a lot of these pedals for years and they’ve all been 100% worth the investment.
My board this Sunday and what I’ve settled on for now after the last year of trying out 10-12 different pedals.
So, the Locust Star is a Rat variant? I know I should know more about Broughton pedals being on TB, but there are a lot to keep track of.
I’m liking the Grizzly again, and maybe an ODR type circuit for a bit looser sound.
I may redo some things on my board. I’m leaning towards replacing the Type One chorus for an Analogman (with top jacks of course) And I have the Grizzly on there for now. I’m excited to check out the new Trickfish OD though.

I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the Trickfish. I almost bought one, and still probably will, but I ended up purchasing a Capo instead.
Between that and a few other high dollar acquisitions this week I had to tap out.
Good to here about the Locust Star. The Trickfish will arrive 2 days before I have to be out of town for a week. I’ll post my thoughts when I’ve spent time with it. I used to think that I could tell pretty quickly if a pedal was right for me, but recently I’ve had some off my board that I tried again and started to really appreciate. So, I’m going to spend some time with it when it arrives.
The Capo is a nice preamp. I wanted to spend more time with it, but it was like 70% of the money to get to the Moog. I’m glad you found one.
I'm REALLY enjoying the Grizzly right now as well. If only it wasn't ugly as sin, had a 125B form factor, and a 3-band EQ instead of the mid scoop & the other useless (to me) lower control.
My hope is that the Trickfish Overdrive Preamp does what the Grizzly does well, but even better.
I heard it at NAMM & was blown away by it. I really hope it continues to stand up to my expectations when I actually have it on my board shooting it out with my other favored drives.

Yeah, the Grizzly isn’t the prettiest pedal. And I could live with just the top row of controls. I had an MK 4.23 boost many years ago. That’s a good looking pedal. (Anyone get the name reference??)
I think the Capo is worth the cost. I just had the Moog in my head, but couldn’t pull the trigger. So, I figured that selling off some pedals would make it an easier decision. It was. But now that I’ve played the Moog for a few days, I wish I would have picked one up sooner.

Yep! When you know the background of the guys at CAL the names of their pedals really gain some context. Same for the now defunct Foxpedal (also the CAL guys).

I have to admit, my brain is moving a little slow at the moment. Posting from a dance competition. They are usually all weekend and exhausting. But always fun when the kids are on stage.
I looked into that one for a bit. It looks like a cool pedal. I’d be curious to hear from anyone who tried it too.
