I think on the Stomp you can save your tasty tweaked block as a "favorite" and make it available for future use. The Stomp experts can confirm or refute.....
On the HX One, you can modify and save the edits as the default block.

Great strategy. My former Nashville instructor did this for his session work and I adopted it as well. Fender P and Lakland Glaub.

Saving a Model’s Default Settings
If you find yourself constantly re-tweaking your commonly-used models the same way, you
can save a model’s settings as its new defaults (excluding Input, Output, Split, or Merge
Mixer blocks’ settings) so the model shows up that way every time.
1. Choose any model and tweak it exactly how you like it.
Configure any of its parameters and bypass state. (Existing MIDI, bypass, snapshot,
and controller assignments are not saved with the User Model Defaults.)
2. Press ACTION, press PAGE twice, and then Knob 3 (User
Default).
All your current parameter settings are now saved as the default for all future uses
of the model. (Existing presets that include the model are not affected.)
NOTE: To return a model to factory defaults, press ACTION, press PAGE twice, and
then press Knob 2 (Factory Default). No current presets’ model settings are changed—
you’ll see the factory defaults restored the next time you insert the model.

Yes exactly. Just right click the block and select save as default. Now those settings will be saved every time you use it in another preset.
or you can save it as a favorite. Which will leave the default settings intact.
I don’t know if I’ll actually commit to that, string wise… it sounds good in theory and I probly should, but at least I’ll have one expensive P bass and one that costs a fraction of the other for use in less than favorable conditions or for whatever I see fit.
Just a note, it will not override the saved block in other patches. You will have to go in and select that block, change it and change it back to get the new default settings.
Has anyone else on here had a really good piece of gear and then sold it, bought and tried numerous others and then returned to what they previously had realising that it was always the best option?
I have recently gone back to the Tonehammer DI and am wondering why on earth I ever wasted my time trying other preamps!
These are the setting I used and I swear I have never had a better sound in my ears or FOH.
Really simple setup today as I haven’t built my board up again yet, Mike Lull V5 (passive jazz bass) played on the neck pickup into the Tonehammer … Boom!

I’ve bought and sold the Tonehammer twice. It’s a great piece of kit but just not for me. I do still recommend it to people though, I know it gets a lot of love.
Yeah I get that it is not everyone’s bag, tone is such a personal thing isn’t it!
What pre to you use now?
Just put a Bassdude on my board. First run was this morning. I’m waiting to hear back the livestream to see how it sits in a mix before I pass judgement. Right now though it sounds great in IEMs.

Im new to the tone hammer and it very nice. Easy to dial in. The AGS drive cuts nicely and is well behaved.
How are you using it? Clean, mild grit, or full on drive?
Interested to hear your report after listening to yourself in the livestream.
I swapped out one of the tubes for a 12AT7 but still can’t get past 9 o’clock and keep it clean. It will still grind if I dig in. I like the tone, just trying to get a little more headroom.
Interesting. As I understand it, one of the tubes is where the clipping occurs while the other provides the output gain. In theory the output stage should be able to remain as a 12AX7 while contributing no additional dirt. Maybe using a high-gain 12AX7 in the output might help you get more volume out of it?
Not sure, after putting it on my board, all of my pedals (Bassdude, Peterson Strobostomp, and Cab Sim) pop when engaging or disengaging. I am using a Cioks Sol and don't recall any popping before. Maybe just coincidence? I have tried engaging/disengaging the pedals multiple times to drain off static charge, I read about that somewhere but everything still pops no matter what is engaged or disengaged.
