What’s wrong with the Aguilar stuff? They’re pretty well regarded.
I agree… they aren’t what I seek. The Chorus is the most important and I’m having a significant challenge getting a unity gain. The effects are pretty subtle too… that’s a pro and a con. They may get put back too. Just want to try the jam pedals.
Highly recommend the Mxr bass chorus deluxe. Jam pedals are also well regarded but the Mxr was made with bass in mind, specifically the crossover.

Well, it certainly does fat and gritty… I reckon it would also be pretty awesome played through with a pick, proper old school overdrive!
Are you happy with what it brought to the mix?
I’m very happy. Just need to address the popping pedals now.
How loud is the pop? My Jam Rattler and Subsonic make a light noise when I engage them while playing (can't really notice when the amp is turned up) but if I engage them with no strumming they are silent. I'm asking slightly for myself too as I'm unsure that's normal haha.

This is pretty loud. Not quite as loud as pulling your instrument cable but close.
How do you like HX One? I am considering getting it to have one wild card on my pedalboard...
My settings on TH is similar to yours...
I find that the eq is very sensitive on this pedal, small adjustments go a long way.
I did out of interest try Adam Kiser’s settings with that massive low mid scoop and raging overdrive that he and the other Bethel guys have going on… after digging around a bit there appears to be several other high profile players doing the same scoop/rage thing as well… Not my thing for sure.

Yeah. The mid level and mid frequency controls are the key controls on this pedal....

This seems to be the latest setting that he is using but I have seen him scoop at 9 o clock as well, I believe that is 385hz

The first service with the Moog went well. We had a surprise transposition since the WL was sick. On bass, I would be fine, but it took me 2 run throughs to get comfortable with the new key. I guess that I something that I will have to get used to. I could have used the transpose function, but, well, I don't know how yet. The team was excited to see and hear it. It was a good addition. I left the stand at church and I can still do the load-in/out in one trip.
His TH settings don’t sound that aggressive in a mix.
I agree, I think for what they do it seems to work really well. I have only ever heard livestream and recordings having never visited the church.
It has certainly challenged me to think about my tone and how it should sit in a mix with keys drums and guitars all going for it as well.
In person vs the live stream sounds very similar, except you can feel every note when you're in the congregation. We like it loud & aren't shy with the subs

I watched a seminar with Luke Hendrickson which was very interesting. I like the idea of a loud sounding mix which isn’t crazy decibels.
Interestingly I saw Hillsong live a few years back and their sound was really soft, almost caressing and zero ear fatigue.
Mixing sound is such a difficult thing to do, every time I get behind the desk I feel that I am still learning.
As a bass player as well I really want to shape my tone so that it works for the whole sound rather than just my own. Threads like this are so useful for pooling ideas and approaches and hearing about what works for folk and what doesn’t.
