Grizzly is awesome, that LPF is a fantastic feature.I think I have owned one 3 times now…
Have just got back from church where I was sound checking the drums and the bass. I took the Tonehammer with me and my Lull V5 and realised pretty quickly that the AGS is voiced more for a 4 string maybe? When I took the AGS off and ran the pedal full range the B string was back to awesome. HPF set to 40hz on the desk kept the low end under control and LPF set to 5khz kept the top end sweet!
The only adjustment on the Tonehammer was a slight treble roll off to 11 o clock. Simple’s

Those who have the new IMA presets, can you comment on the drop tune preset? Track pretty well?

kinda rough morning… here’s a quick clip of what a stomp and noble combo can do for ya. This is with my Berly P bass with some random take off round wounds and lollar pups. key of C… starting “You Won’t Relent”
for the hx stomp users, this is the IMA Montana patch, but modified by me for this song specifically. I only changed the tremolo portion of it to something else and slowed it down. I can get the name of it if someone wants I don’t remember off the top of my head.

I use the IMA sig patch the most. Still waiting to hear more about the 2nd set that just came out but the sig pack is worth it IMO.
Picked up a new pedaltrain JR. Better layout and so much lighter than my custom board.
If I get a vote I'd suggest a Midi Controller to help navigate both the FI & SA pedals. They're great, but presets are an absolute must, IMO.

Lol, you nailed it. Eventually I'm gonna snag a Morningstar MC6 for exactly that reason... setting up some presets for the FI and Spectrum. It'll either go sideways next to the Hyper Luminal, or I'll ditch the SmartGate (it rarely gets used) and move the Luminal up to that top spot since it pretty much stays on all the time.
LOL. A Morningstar MC6 was the exact unit I had in mind, but didn't want to recommend the most expensive controller on the market.
I've been working with the Capo on my smaller board since I received it last week. I'm still fine tuning the signal chain on that board & trialing a few other pedals, and also waiting for a pedal to return that is currently out for repair, so I can't truly dial in the Capo in a manner that I know will remain consistent.
With that said I decided earlier tonight to put it on my bigger board that doubles for Synth Bass & has a fairly settled signal chain.
I found that the settings I used on this board were very different from what I was running on my other board, and I'm now actually rethinking the other boards signal chain as I found the Capo easier to dial in tonight.
Tuner > Octabvre > LA-1A > Capo > Empress Comp > Doom 2 > XD > FFXL > (LVX > MercuryX > Walrus Canvas Stereo DI) > FFXL > Broughton RFE > Sushi Box More > Element
The Empress, RFE, More, & Canvas are under the board.
I just used the In & Out on the Capo so It would be a quick swap in tonight (forgive the sloppy placement... I tried to fix it before the photo but the baby was sleeping and the rip of the Velcro was causing her to stir), but I can see benefit in using the loops down the road. The board currently sends three DI's to FOH (Wet/Dry/Wet) but everything was summed to mono for tonight's experimentation. In the future I can see a potential for running 4 DI's when recording... But that's another topic entirely.
The below settings produced absolutely fantastic Clean, Saturated, Drive, & pushed drive tones. It covers every possible need I have in a worship context & serves just as well for my needs in my Post Rock/Prog projects. When I used the Capo in conjunction with my synth bass signal chain, I found it to be extremely dynamic and allowed me to dial in multiple perfect Moog-esque tones.
Between the LA-1A & the Capo I was able to remove 6-7 other pedals that I was previously stacking to achieve similar results (SBM, DCX, Pettyjohn Lift, PC-2A & 2-3 Drives depending on the set). This requires less tap dancing & produces a superior sound on all counts.

No doubt. However when accounting for everything that the Capo & LA-1A replaced (I just realized I forgot to mention the Khan) I actually came out money ahead. And did I mention... It sounds fantastic!!
I have a khan on order. He’s a few weeks out due to parts. I plan on using that is my DI. I have 3 pre options I’m toying with….Capo (waiting), HXS, or Caveman BCP1. I’m a sucker for simple one-three knob layouts. So the Caveman fits that bill. Mine is due in tomorrow. I have a HXS. But it’s new to me and I’m just getting acquainted with it. From what I played so far, it sounds damn good. But there’s a steep learning curve. I’ll prob need a midi controller to do what I’d want it to do. But, this has the possibility to also be a replacement for a few pedals I use in an amplified band. This has a ton of potential. I just need to put in the hours to unlock said potential. And I order Ian’s presets. The capo will be interesting to see where it’s finds its place. Not sure if it will take the place of the khan post HXS…..or possibly find its own use as it too has a good deal of potential uses. In the end, I planned on having two boards….one church board strictly IEM, and a second for live amplified petty tribute. As im getting more into the stomp, I’m thinking I can do one board with the stomp and/or capo or khan. The caveman might be a flip. But the videos I’ve seen it sounds so freaking good. Ugh. I guess it’s a good time to be a bass player. Lol

I suspect the Capo + Khan would sound awesome together.... The Capo arrived after both my Khan's found new homes. The Khan is a favorite of mine, but I will say that the LA-1A actually provides more of that tube mojo than the Khan did.
I can't speak with any authority on the HX Stomp. I owned one for a year & gave it a solid try, but I simply didn't jive with it. As I see it, it would be a very expensive Cab Sim if I were to use it with the Capo.
I mean used, a stomp is 450. So def worth giving it a good ole college try. If it works, you’re money ahead. If not, flip it and break even or maybe lose a few bucks and consider it as a rental fee. Lol. I’m hoping the stomp will get me the la1a vibe.
That's the beauty of all of this— Different strokes for different folks & that's ok! Life would be pretty boring if we all had the exact same gear & utilized it in the exact same way. I hope the Stomp works out the way you want it to
Nice board!! That's a lot of acronyms, but I think I got it. Haha. Those are all nice pedals, but I'm curious about the Element. Are you using it as a cab sim? That is something that I haven't yet considered for my board. (And I thought I was done. It doesn't end...) But, it seems like a good idea for us who are ampless.
The Caveman is a great preamp. I should have kept mine, but, you know, I 'needed' to fund a bunch of OD pedals that I ended up selling anyway...that's just how it goes.
It had this great 'punch' to it that I really liked. I didn't spend a whole lot of time with the Capo, but I think the Caveman had more of a signature tone to it.
