I've been experimenting with a drive first - compression last signal chain since getting the DCX and it sounds really good. Putting another drive in front of the dcx imparts both its touch sensitivity and eq onto both drives. Maybe because the vmt is 50/50 blended. Can't exactly explain how it's working but it's the best drive sounds I've ever gotten.

Love your Super P! My Super J is in that same Lake Placid Blue. It may need a Super P sibling at some point...

Yes you do! Dingwalls are hands down the best instruments I've ever played & I've been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to play a whole lot of high end basses (some 2-3x the price of the Canadian made Dingwalls) over the years.

Nice setup. Are you using the presets on the Sub Phatty? Can you post your panel? I'm curious about other settings.

I didn't play this morning, but I did manage to make more room on my board for a second drive. The tuner can go if needed—-the Shure has a tuner in it. It's mounted that way so I can plug into the input when practicing at home, and because there was a bit of stress on the cables to fit in the holes. I could probably rearrange for even more space. (Settings got bumped a bit while mounting, so they aren't what I use.)

WELL.... Truth be told I'm not a huge fan of Ps. If Dingwall would accommodate me with a Reverse PJ, I'd be all in. But, with their current & ever increasing backlog they won't.

I was considering using the clip-on Peterson that I have for upright and using the Shure as a check up. Unless there are rare circumstances, I usually take my bass off stage during the sermon, so I can always tune if needed then.
For the 1981, that could work. I'm going to use it a few more services to see how it does. So far, I like it a lot. It looks so cool as is though. Might be a tough decision to get it rehoused.
