Worship Bass Pedalboards

Hi everyone. I've been playing bass in worship bands for years, but have always just tuned up, plugged in and played. I have only recently got a pedal tuner (TU-3) and also an MXR M81 Preamp/DI as I needed something with DI to go into the PA. Though it seemed to make sense to have a DI box that doubles as a Preamp, giving some EQ options, I am not totally convinced about the M81, (its so transparent its like its not even there) and wonder if I should have just got a plain Radial DI instead. But I'll probably stick with the M81 for now anyway!

So, even though I only have 2 pedals I kind of feel I should get a small board such as the Pedaltrain Nano. Of course it will then look silly with just 2 pedals on! So, I am curious what TWO pedals I could potentially add if I do get the Nano. How would you complete that board? I am thinking its likely that things like Chorus, Octaver, Compressor, Overdrive, etc will be suggested but I am open to any ideas. Or given Jesse Hughes opinion of "Out there, it sounds like a bass", should I just go for simplicity and make myself a tiny board for the 2 pedals I already have?

Also as I am totally new to pedalboards, I'm trying to figure out about power supply. I have seen a 'One Spot' mentioned, am I right to think that you just plug this into the start of your chain (Tuner) and then it will power every other pedal after you've linked them all with patch cables?

Nothing wrong with a Nano with few pedal.. if it serves your needs to serve Him..

Just picked up a Bass Fly Rig so interested to see how that compares to the fishman. In theory it should work as well as the fishman with the Piezo pup in my Godin. I like the simplicity of the fishman and it's feature set (Tuner, Comp, Boost, Comprehensive EQ) and the BFR shares some of these with more again.

Thanks! It's absolutely amazing. So simple but extremely effective.
And the easiest load imaginable.
Nano in a Mono TICK strapped to my Vertigo, xlr in the front pocket...
Walk into church, board on the floor, xlr plugged in, strap up, turn on G30, tune, play :hyper::thumbsup:

I have a GK Plex coming in on Friday! I'm pretty excited to try it out for worship (probably can't test live until the 29th, since I think it needs the firmware update). I've been using an RMI Basswitch IQ DI, and a Fire Eye DeeEye (occasionally). I hope the Plex can deliver as clear a signal as it has all the essential features I need in one box. I'll report back at the end of January :thumbsup:

I still practice with an amp at home, but yeah, the mini headphone is nice.
Read a lot about noise though. This would basically eliminate my need for a board - except I have my IEM receiver (Rolls PM50S) on my board as well and a special cable that Dave made for me.

If I ever go wireless, I'll have to rethink everything. Maybe I should just skip the wireless thing and stick to what works. I could replace my tuner and compression with this. My Radial JDI is a really good DI so the DI on the Plex would have to be really good to knock the JDI off.

That's what I'm a bit worried about. It seems that Rob has fixed that issue with the last software update, though. Crossing my fingers ;)

Just purchased an MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay, specifically to play the intro guitar lines on these tunes this weekend, we have an acoustic guitar player who only plays chords so I cover the lines on my 6 string. I think it sounds pretty good or at least I'm happy to some fun and different stuff.
