I've never used one, but I was listening to Janek's video and was surprised at the VT Bass Di from Sansamp. And I thought almost allof them sounded better with a P bass.
whoa… that's a long vidya, i'm not sure I have that much patience!

After watching through, I agree most all sounded best to my ears on the P Bass too. I am a little bias however
. I'm always interested in folks who do blind tests on things, removing bias always makes for some interesting results.

I re-purchased an Origin Bassrig this week and could not stop playing through it practicing this Sunday's set. Really nice tone. So, here is my simple board for Sunday.

That is a nice little collection of preamps you have there and a seriously tidy looking board.
How do you think the super vintage does in the mix? I am guessing it may have some similarities to the Tonehammer in terms of high and low end roll off? I had one for a few days but was frustrated by the HF hiss that is really difficult to get rid of even at moderate gain settings… have you noticed this by any chance?

My previous experience with the Bassrig SV in the IEMs and mix was very good. Sits very nicely. Lovely professional organic tone. It's the only cab sim I've heard that I like, but my experience is a bit limited there to the HX models. There is an analog noise floor, not excessive, but have not noticed a hiss. The noise floor is similar to the CAPO. The Tone Hamer is dead quiet.
I liked the Bassrig in the little bit of time I got to mess around with it. I want to try it out again. Especially after finding this Stingray demo where they just ran it through the previous Cali CB, and the Bassrig DI, right into their recording interface.
Spent way too much of my sabbath playing with pedal paraphernalia, but finally landed where I want. Learned that pedals in the FX loop don't like line level sends - only instrument from here out. Also learned that the two source pedals get dangerously close to the 3leaf D2 and O3 combo with the right settings…
Also, if you any of you blokes haven't tried a MORE pedal, I highly recommend to bring some tube magic to the HXS. Putting it in the FX loop allows me to stick it anywhere in the chain I'd like!

The More is an amazing pedal— I love it as my last in chain on every board. The 3D quality it imparts is pure magic!

Whaaaaa??? That's awesome. I have a DC7. I guess I need a Peterson mini.
It is pretty slick, they really knocked it out of the park with that tuner.
