yeah, for me, I don’t need anymore saturation than what the capo offers. I’ve always wanted one the la1a comps. But I think the empress or c76 is more than sufficient for me, and my wallet. Lol

For sure— Different strokes for different folks, & that's perfectly ok!

On the below board my clean tone is the CAPO off, while the CAPO provides me with two additional gain stages, the Fifth Gear is the third. I use the LA-1A more for its Tube saturation than I do for it's compression. I use the ND Humboldt for it's parallel compression, as well as it's transformer saturation.

I stack several low level saturated signals to arrive at moderate & higher gain tones, rather that dialing in higher gain tones from the get go. I find each of the components add qualities that provide me with a more nuanced tone than I would arrive at with one or two circuits dialed to higher settings.

Sometimes I think I need to go all analog again… then I plug in to the stomp and noble and realize how good it sounds.

I’d probably only switch to a cali76 and jf capo… paired with the stomp


And yes, I still like the khan. I need to pick it up from my “2nd church” next week.

No. Just lpf. And its freq center is preset.

If I'm deducing correctly, the end of your chain is the RFE > More > Element.

I'm always curious to where guys put the More in their chain.

Any particular reason why you've put the More after the RFE?

You deduced correctly. The bottom row is wired Right to Left & then goes into the top row from Left to Right.

The logic behind placing the More after the RFE is that the RFE being a LPF/HPF cuts unnecessary frequencies out of the signal that would otherwise reduce the efficiency of the Tube circuit in the More. By eliminating those frequencies the More is receiving a narrower band of sonic information (albeit with increased resonance) and can more efficiently apply it's magic to only those frequencies I want as it boosts the output signal.

The guys at (now) Wilcox Guitars are great people. They’re now in Ventura, and have done a lot of soldering work for me, for free!
Looking to pickup an MS60b+, to add effects to my board, and possibly replace the Fermata. I really like the Fermata, but I’ve really liked the comps in the old MS60b, and it would save board space.

My favorite pizza combo is feta olives and anchovies. If they would include octopus or squid tentacles would be over the top fantastic but I’ve never seen those seafood options.
