Am I the only one that zoomed in to the pic of all the bass boards to see how everyone is running their Micro Synth? Just wondering.
Just out of interest what combinations are folks finding works best on line 6 products to get that Bethel Micro synth tone..
My Helix arrives today and fortunately I still have my micro synth so I can A/B until I get close… a starting point would be a huge time saver though!!

that looks good, he actually has quite a nice balanced tone, I did look at Tanners preset as well.
I did. And the Tone Hammers, as well. Lots of Gain on all those Tone Hammers.
What exactly is the Bethel BMS tone. I hear many talking about it and know all the cool kids have it but are there any raw bass tracks of the exact tone you speak of? Especially considering I hear about this "tone" yet most BMS I see have very different settings. (I'm aware a difference in bass, the way someone plays, and the signal path can influence some settings as well) I would just like to hear it.
It's this sound in a nutshell. The bass track for king of my heart. BMS into tone hammer essentially.
Settings "should" be octave down, dry, octave up, drive 100% and the stop freq 100%.. but that stuff varies.
And it's not really a cool kids thing. You do you! Not body really cares or could probably tell if you turn it on. I've been asked why I stopped playing during the parts I turned it on, sooo yeeaah..
I'm not cool. I use no effects at church. I tried some drive once in the chorus of something, but no one really noticed. I tend to think Jesse Reeves was right years ago when talked about his bass rig/sound. Bass to tuner to DI/amp. In the house, it sounds like bass. Even. in the cover band, unless it's like a big filter sound like "Can't Stop the Feeling" no one really notices any effect I use. It just gets lost in the guitar and keys.

This is the sound & Yaks description is spot on with how I used to run my settings.
Ironically, I no longer even own a BMS, though that may change in the near future.
Yeah, the "cool kids" comment was probably unnecessary I was just curious what the exact tone was. I usually just kick on a thick fuzz for heavier sections, maybe octave on occasion, seems to work fine.
Octave into fuzz into chorus will get you a decent BMS type tone.
It depends on your playing and your FOH engineer. If they eq all the life out of it, yes it will just sound like "bass".
I use a few pedals but not interested in just having a bunch of the latest hardware. I have a few effects that work for me and support the WT: compressor, OD, chorus, reverb, delay. I play most of the time with only the first three.
