Beautiful build. What cables did you go with on your SP500 and SPS5 connectors? I know it was a lot of work... but it's so worth making your own patch cables at custom lengths. The pictures justifies that. Nice work!!!
Well fellas... the la1a and hx stomp sounded amazing this morning! Once the capo gets here, I think the church board has taken its final form. Very happy camper
Thought I’d give some initial thoughts on the Cali76 v2. It’s not all positive but this seems a little safer of a place to put this out lol.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s sounds really good. It’s the quietest compressor I’ve ever used and the headroom is amazing.
It is VERY transparent. To be honest I was hoping for a little more of the tone enhancement you heard more with the v1. You REALLY hear the difference in this comparison.
The metering is just ok. It’s not as accurate as the empress or Darkglass led metering. Changes in the settings don’t seem to be reflected in the metering like it should and there’s no way it’s affecting the db as much as it’s saying.
The most controversial take…overall it reminds me of the Walrus Mira because of the transparency and similar controls. I think this speaks more to the Mira’s value than a knock on the cali76 v2. The Mira does get a tad noisy when you push it but it also has hpf side chain and separate attack and release controls which is something the cali76 doesn’t.

The transparency is actually what I want from a compressor. I would rather have the tone controlled outside of the compressor pedal.
I had the Mira and thought it was an excellent compressor. Scuba's review was quite positive as well.
I actually liked the Mira, only swapped cause of GAS. Now rock the Effectrode PC2A which gives me that tube depth.
It was quite a steal when they were clearanced out for $100. Just need to do some comparisons and decide the cali76 v2 is worth the extra $.
Here's an update with my slightly bigger board and my rehearsal setup. I also use this to record directly to my gopro. Works like a charm. I love the rolls units. Really clean and flexible. I actually found a TAFM and it's on the way but might get used sparingly. Meaning I probably won't leave it on the board permanently.
I use the TH as a DI and character effect when needed. The DI is WAY louder on the TH than the oracle and for consistency sake I put the TH at the end. I tried several different arrangements and I love the way this sounds. The TH adds to the tube tone quite a bit. Reminds me of my old fender super bassman when just on the verge.
I’ve gone from a Mira, back to my old Hyper Luminal and now to the Cali76 v2. I’m actually like the Cali the most as I found it the easiest to dial and actually feel and hear what it was doing!! I did find the Mira a bit noisy in higher levels, I’ve actually just moved it to my small acoustic guitar board and it was really nice for me leading in guitar yesterday! The Cali on bass just makes me smile when playing through it, has a great feel and punch!

That is one nice thing about Origin pedals it seems, the entire range of controls are useful. I can’t get a bad sound on the cali76 or dcx. Just different variations of good.
