How are you liking the HX One compared to the Stomp? How are you using it?

Also, I see you have the Lowrider back on your board. What made you put it back on?

I really like the HX One quite a bit. Smaller, easy to power, you get the HX effects. I use it for the octaver, chorus, flanger, modulated delay, or tuner. I've been OK with one effect at a time.

The Lowrider is not back on my board, but I was thinking about adding it again. When I try to replicate the bass tones from Tanner or Bryce, their videos seem to have much more beef in the bottom end than my similar set-up achieves. Not sure if it's post-production? But I've been looking for an end of chain low end boost. The DCX is in that position for now, but re-considering the lowrider.

Where did you get the Sub 25 training? Or did you do the training? If so, did you record it?

There are a lot of great videos on YouTube. But, also, I found the manual to be really informative and well written.

My mistake, I thought that was the Lowrider next to your tuner. Old guy eyes.

Regarding the end of chain low in boost, that’s what I love about my Sushibox Neptunium. A small bit of EQ, a tube to fatten, and a DI in a small compact space.

There is a Lowrider on their website at the moment. But with exchange rate and rather large shipping charge, it's getting too pricey. I need to give the Neptunium a look.

I forgot to add that this is my new small church pedalboard that was inspired by you Project Apollo. I purchased the Tanner Erickson HX Stomp preset that includes the Tone Hammer, Bass-X, and Lollar Fuzz. Will try this combo out at church the next time I play and report back.

I would like to custom wire my large pedalboard. Off the shelf patch cables are too bulky for my set up. Anyone have a recommendation on where to get raw cable Mogami cable and square plug SP550-S, or something like this?

I've used Redco or BTPA in the past. I have some Squareplug patches but most have been replaced with EBS HP or the Ernie Ball flat patch cables (one type on each board). They are more compact and come in all sorts of lengths, I thought about making cables but I think these are more reliable and work really well.

Anyone running a Neve RNDI-M live? Or the older model? Curious if it's worth the extra thing to carry or if it's negligible?

I've had the RNDI-M on my board for the last two months. Not sure if I really needed it but it is another piece of the puzzle and I had wanted to try one out for a long time. Sounds good to me and doesn't take up too much space on the board.

I had everyone watch the David Curran video on dialing in a sub bass synth sound (using his Sub Phatty which is similar to the Sub 25). Then we played through of the first half of What A Beautiful Name a few times using headphones. I did this one-on-one with each bass player for about 45 minutes. We played with a single oscillator at first, the added a second to dial in some modulation or thickness to the tone.

I love how you’re teaching and training the next generation. That is so cool!

That's a lot of Neve flavor on that board. Looks tasty.

As expected, outrageous levels of gain from the Tone Hammer. Totally unrealistic for many worship settings. I love the THDI with AGS on, but rarely go past 9 o’clock on the gain.

At home I like the sound of gain at 10:30-11, with the master at about 8, but in the room where I play on a Sunday, the desk guys like me to give a good strong signal, so the master stays at noon, which means I can’t really have both master and gain cranked. If I was to turn the master down and gain up, I’m sure they’d say quite quickly that they’re not getting a strong enough signal from me.

Even with flats on (trying them for first time, Fender 9050L on a P) & reduced finger squeak, I don’t see any need to go much over 9 o’clock in gain. Just when I think I know what my THDI go-to settings are, I change to flats, and find I’m adding a little treble and cutting a little bass, to counteract the darker flat sound, even though the Fenders are fairly bright for flats, which I like. Anyone else running a P with flats through a THDI?

I’m really grateful for this video for explaining why cutting low mids is a good idea. 4:55



I set the mids like in this video, and just out of curiosity on a recent worship practice I put both the mid frequency & mid level at noon, and it was just a boomy indistinct mess. I can’t imagine not having parametric mids now.

Depends a lot on your church setup. In a big mix (2+ guitars, keys & pad) it’s very realistic.

Yeah, I'll run a thick fuzz into high gain distortion and it just fills more sonic space you can't actually hear any of the effect. You can feel it though haha.

If you ever play around in Prime and listen to the bass tracks solo, a LOT of CCM music use extremely distorted bass tones.

I could be wrong but to me the Lollar sound clips remind me a lot of the Kasleder Albatross fuzz I used to own.

Happy Father’s Day to many of you

Today I got the WH pork and pickle as a gift.

I like the pedal overall but in combination with a moderate gain AGS it sounded amazing. Can’t wait to use it live soon

Did you like the Albatross fuzz?

I did like it quite a bit. It does a great subtle fuzz (see Philip Conrad’s review on YouTube) but I preferred the kilt’s gated fuzz better and the enclosure is an awkward size on a board.

Thanks for the info! It is pricey and awkward form. I'm still liking the Kilt V1 I scored, as well.
