I'm still experimenting with it. To be clear, there is nothing like the Bass MicroSynth.Does that mean the MXR can cop that tone?
I only use my MicroSynth maybe once or twice per month at a church. It is a very specific device used once a Sunday and usually for only one song. For me, the value really isn't there. It takes up a ton of space on my pedalboard for one single use.
I'm able to get close to that sound with an octave pedal, overdrive, heavy gated fuzz, and slight modulation/chorus.
However, Tanner Erickson just released his own version of MicroSynth preset for the HX Stomp and it is killer! Now I have no need for the MicroSynth on my pedalboard.
One of my Instagram friends bought the MXR Bass Synth and blended it with his overdrive last night. He said it sounds great. Now I have more options without taking up so much space on my pedalboard.
