I don't know if I want to go down that rabbit hole now since I haven't played a 35" scale in over a decade. But my sadowsky modern 5 has unbelievable clarity on the B string with the tapered .130 blue label SS strings and it's as tight as I could want.

Maybe I'll wind up with a 5 string spector or something someday… but for now I think I'm still in the honeymoon phase and need to wait till it ends… if it does.

Maybe we should rename this worship bass pedal boards + fret boards

Our church held our annual night of worship this past weekend. It was amazing and I'm happy to be a part of it.

Very nice. Good worship leaders, great production. Loved Who Else in Spanish. Didn't see nearly enough of that handsome bass player with that cool looking fanned fret thing! Subscribed.

What would the hx stomp be used for in this configuration I wonder? Looks like everything is covered. Chorus and Tuner?

I had to leave after the first set so I thought it was easier to pick up quickly without pedalboard. Obviously the TH head was easy to dial in to sound like my pedal and I just unplugged the speaker.

Oh, and there's a guy who will message you about a bulk purchase. His price is fair, not top dollar, but saves you the hassle of individual sales. He's legit.
edit to add, that guy may have been from Facebook or reverb, not here. Likely reverb.

Get a pirate ship account.
The 9x13 waterproof padded envelopes at dollar tree for $1.25 are great for shipping pedals that are in a box already. Folded over a couple times makes a quadruple padded waterproof enclosure.
Check the talkbass history of buyers. If they have no feedback and < 20 posts it is probably scammers.
Unless you really know someone, only ship to the address the buyer has submitted with their PayPal.

A follow-up to this post…
I recently got the newer Octabvre Mk. 3.33 and put it on my main pedalboard from the post above. I assembled a separate "church/worship pedalboard," and included the older Octabvre Mk. 3.

Here's that church pedalboard, which is what I'm now using every Sunday.

I used to wonder why all the Bethel bassists use a Neve RNDI, when their Tone Hammer already has its own DI. After getting a RNDI-M, I now understand. It simply makes everything sound even better. Not to mention, the Neve has a transformer, which the Tone Hammer does not.

No. You're not crazy.

Over a year ago I committed to 4 bangers and sold all my 5 strings in an effort to give 4's a try since that's what you see all the "big dogs" (think bethel/elevation/etc) using. I always thought that 4 strings had that classic and cool look and those cats have a different playing style/approach.

What I learned is… I'm not them, even though I play those songs. But I play those songs every week, in a different church, with different singers and players and in different keys and we don't have all the different instruments and synths going on to fill sonic space. After 6 months or so, one of my 4 strings was converted to BEAD because of this. But it doesn't feel quite right to me, I miss the G string even if I rarely play it and the wider neck… it's a feel thing! I recently bought another 5 and it was instantly like being home again.

There's no right or wrong way to do it… horses for courses, YMMV, my 2 cents.

Maybe the width and string distance was just not my thing on 4s. Maybe a couple of days after I got my first 5, it pretty much felt like home. Could not put that thing down!!

Cool, glad a stranger on the internet could help validate your life choices

I still have a P and a J (and a mustang) but they've been converted back to standard tuning for the time being and I'll play them when I want to or when it's called for, but I don't take multiple basses either. Whatever I start with is what I'm using for the whole set.

Some of those cats have said in past interviews that they aren't 5 string players, so they had a couple in different tunings. Now a couple of them have 5 strings, so… take that for whatever it's worth.

I miss amps so much. After playing with my 4x10 and getting to crank it… I want to go back!!!
