Got my new board in a couple of weeks ago:

Creation Music Custom 18
- 18" x 12.5" board
- Black Tweed carry case with 8" vertical clearance for board + DLA-2A
- Crushed Velvet lining

Pedal lineup has been pretty static lately:

Shure GLXD16+ > Lehle Mono Volume > 3 Leaf Doom 2 > 3 Leaf Octabvre MK 3.33 > Doc Lloyd DLA-2A > Jad Freer Capo

Twins! Though I opted for the soft case. I ordered a riser for the comp so the cables don't stick out like Goofy's ears. I also need to clean it up, especially underneath. But, so far, I love this board.
I really need to get a sticker to cover up that mess on top of the Noble. It was like that when I got it, and it's been bugging me ever since. Any suggestions?

Thanks. Yeah, I have always had a good experience dealing with Creation. They have a matching hard case that will be finished soon. It's so tempting, but I've only been playing at church, so I don't need a ton of protection. The soft case works well for me, but I do love the look of your setup.

Anyone see the new JHS Kilt with some mods? Looks interesting! Only 5000 units available.

Listened to the demo. Sounds more grungy. I think I prefer the silicon over germanium personally. For as popular a pedal as it is on bass you think they could have just demo’d that once in the 20 minute video.

I ordered one, will report back in a few weeks (currently traveling and very busy).

I got one as well. I've seen it on too many boards here to never try it. It sounds great in all the demo's I've seen with it. This new version has some tweaks like more usable low gain that could be really interesting. Though they supposedly also put in some "germanium type" components that cause it to break up earlier. Apparently they also made the low cut toggle stronger, not that I would touch that switch anyways. I don't know what this translates to in real world usage, but it will be fun, Just Try Stuff!

I do really like fuzzes that clean up really well. They turn into distortion pedals with really high clipping headroom, at least that's the way I describe it to myself 🙃

My local pedal store, Knox Guitars (nice Christian family run small shop, store on Reverb, as well), is a JHS dealer and has the Kilt 10 in stock and on sale. But they are not open today or tomorrow. I'm think I will trade my V2 for the 10 and give it a go.

In other news, being an Origin Effects fanboi, acquired the new Origin Bassrig Fifteen B-15 amp-in-a-box and think I will try it this Sunday. The 1x15 cabsim has that notable bass roll-off but I'm thinking that might be good in a big PA and slot in the bass better? With sales tax, the Fifteen is way expensive. Now sold out on Sweetwater, and mine is returnable.

In more news, got the JHS Colourbox 10 for a second try. On sale and returnable from Sweetwater. Also talked to the nice people at Trickfish and they are sending me their Minnow preamp/DI to try out for 7 days. They gave me a holiday discount, as well. I've been wanting to get into a nice clean pre/DI. But every time I go back to the Tone Hammer, its still works quite well.

I bought a bass micro synth to use for our Christmas services this year as we are playing a lot of bethel songs.

I spent time today creating a new patch on my helix so I can incorporate the micro synth. This one uses the tone hammer clone in the helix.

I’m really tempted to make a small pedal board now so I can leave my helix set up in my music room. Right now I use the helix as an audio interface and I often have multiple instruments plugged into it. Taking it out every Sunday is kind of a pain and it’s a lot bigger than I want to deal with moving.

I still have a sonic research turbo tuner and the bass micro synth coming. I’m thinking maybe pairing those with a Darkglass alpha omicron and a rndi for a relatively small board. I’m open to suggestions for what to use as my preamp.

Currently in my helix I typically use the regal preamp which is a noble clone. I like it. I’ve also used the SVT pro a lot and the tone hammer clone. I’ve been happy with all of these but I think the regal is probably my favorite.

Tone Hammer is prob the obvious choice. Preamp, boosted drive, and di output. Lots of worship boards have the TH and micro synth combo
