Worship Bass Pedalboards

As much I like my HX Stomp, I just don't change presets anymore. I had an issue today where I disabled my BMX, and I clipped the foot switch on the pedalnetics helauxy duo, and it changed to an unusable preset. Luckily it was the end of the song, and switched to my Moog messenger.
I keep thinking of removing the HX Stomp, but I'm sure I'm going to need an effects that I can add real quick. For now, I saved the 3 of the same presets together... so if accidentally clip the footswitch, it will be the same preset. I'll think of pedal options later.... but I know I'll just talk myself out of it.

I’ve done basically the same thing. I use one preset and really don’t need the Stomp. Yet I use the pitch shift sometimes. I could use my 5 and just transpose but I like using g open strings sometimes in that “Eb” tuning.As much I like my HX Stomp, I just don't change presets anymore. Also, it’s paid for and getting new/different pedals to replace it would be expensive.
I am contemplating switching from the Boss OC-2 to the Subsonic, mainly because it specifically fixes the problem the OC-2 has with active basses and headroom. Have you compared the two? I have compared the OC-2 to the MXR VBO, though really close, the VBO didn't do it for me. Sorry... the Subsonic is the only octaver I've used. Partly influenced by @projectapollo from his pedalboard posts, I've read it tracks well, and I pulled the trigger when it was in stock. At the time, it was always sold out.
My OC-5 seems to track pretty well on active basses, fwiw. Also, I didn't go the HX route - I went with an ME-90B and pretty happy with it. Tried an HX and some others and the menus and stuff would make my ADHD brain rebel pretty quick.

I go with a comment Phil Driscoll made - that Worship is NOT a genre. Church music may be, but blues? Reggae - see Johnathan Nelson - I believe? Rock - I saw Stryper live in the UK first time round in the 80's - awesome - still Worship. BTW - I'm a 48-year bass playing Bible-believing UK rock kid with Blues/funk tendencies in my 60's.
Love this video and even though I have NO STOMP (only a ONE) I gave him a sub. Funny stuff and pretty accurate. An overdriven FSO does most of the work for me everywhere.
Yeah, this video made me want to consider the Stomp (again). Great tones.
His point about being pulled out of the mix is very accurate. It is so frustrating at times and demotivates me. You spend all this time researching gear, building pedal boards, and learning hours worth of songs only to be cut out of the mix?

I wish there was an unlimited like option. I have great sound. I’m a good player. I am lost in the mix. I hear myself in my ears, and maybe a couple other people in the band, but that’s it. I think pele associate solid bass with volume. Sound guys hear it’s too loud and there you go.His point about being pulled out of the mix is very accurate. Every time I travel, I take my HX Stomp with me. Just my Stomp and my travel bass. After spending a few days with it, I can’t believe how great it is on its own! I highly recommend getting one if you don’t have one.
So Nick Edwards just dropped his new pedalboard setup for their current worship tour. No microsynth and no tone hammer. New era of sounds for worship music? There is a pedal on his board I don’t recognize? Anyone have any idea what that new one is?
Best advice I got was to go out of your was to befriend your sound guys and then talk to them about what you’re going for like “hey I’m playing with a drive to help me cut through in the mid range, let me know if you can hear it.” Another thing that helped at our church was going to a worship conference together where the bass was cranked, so they could hear how loud the bass can actually get without being an issue.
Plus one on this. Bringing him a coffee and asking him how your tone could best fit in the mix goes a long way.

I make a point of complimenting the PA/ FOH team when the mix is good very publicly.

Yes, that’s it. Thank you! I guess the nice thing about using the stomp as an effects loop is that you can split the signal and dial in as much of the original bass tone as you want. He can get the exact tone he wants, and it would be impossible to copy his tone with just the pedal by itself.
Pretty sure he’s running some octave and chorus in the stomp based on their songs
