worst bass line ever

That's a really fun song to play live. And no, I'm not joking.

I thought so too.

I never really cared for those guys, then I saw them do that song live a few weeks ago on some talk show, so I youtubed a bunch of live videos of them and they're actually pretty damn cool. Regardless, I always enjoy playing that song. Certainly more fun than "You got another thing coming". Hell, you might as well just get up there and play "Rock you like a hurricane while you're at it. Then go home and put a bullet in your head.

Speaking of which, Bullet in the head is another super easy song that is incredibly fun to play. I can't play it without wanting to destroy something. :)

My last band played both You Got Another Thing Coming and Rock You Like A Hurricane. I could only tolerate playing Hurricane because I also sang it and was able to put my bass brain on autopilot for the most part.

My last band played those two songs too. I made it one gig, then promptly stole their guitar player and drummer and formed the first incarnation of the band I have now. We play ZERO songs older than the early 1990s.

Your band could play one of those "let's start the first 3 minutes with only acoustic guitar and singing" where you fall asleep after 2 minutes and miss the last 30 seconds where the drums start and you are suposed to play root notes on the 1st and 4th count...

I have to say white room. Not that it's a boring tune, it was murdered by one of my instrumental workshop classmates, but yet he thought he had it nailed. Every time he was asked to pick a song for the class to play, white room. And everytime, he would forget how to play AT LEAST one - two parts. This is also the same kid that thought his squire 5 with a horribly forward bowed neck and 5 year old strings sounded better than any bass ever. I'm not bashing squires but I kinda see an oxymoron in having a 5 string starter series of an instrument. Ya know? The kid refused to let me fix his bass, regardless of how out of intonation and how wacky the string heights were. Oh and he INSISTED on plugging into the active port on the amp, always. EL OH EL. but yea he killed it for me, white room. I'm done now ;)

The ability to play in one key and keep it interesting is a trait that some truly great musicians have. If the left hand is bored, pay close attention to what the right hand is doing.
