Worst Neckdive You've Experienced

Oh, by the way, the Warwick Infinity SE is also a diver, Chambered body to lighten it, but that damn metal channel embedded into the neck makes it neck heavy and feel like a base ball bat. Don't know why they didn't use Carbon fiber stiffeners like Spector does and give up on a metal channel running thru the neck. Dumb idea.

What's the absolute worst neckdive you've ever experienced in a bass? Today I went into my local pawn shop just to see what they had and there was this red cort 5 string with a musicman humbucker, big inline headstock. Not sure what model, anyway I don't own a 5 and it was really cheap so I thought maybe i would get it just to mess around with it. Hooked it up to my strap and put it on and the thing sank headfirst to the floor. Like it didn't just creep down, it dropped like a rock. Just surprised me how seemingly unplayable it would be (probably why it ended up in the pawn shop for 75 bucks)
Forgive this question (been playing bass about 1.5 years), what exactly is neck dive?

OK. Stand there with your bass on in playing position with your left hand(assuming playing right handed)holding the neck. Let go with your left hand. Did the headstock kiss the floor? Yes? YOU have neckdive! Congratulations and thanks for playing our game.:smug:

(I'd always read that Warwick Thumbs had a tendency to go vertical - and fully expected it when I picked up my first one. I'm the odd-man out: I own a fretted-5 ('99) and fretless-6 ('97) and both of them - thank God - are pretty nicely balanced, both with Wenge necks. Not perfect, but I've never had any issues! I have suede leather straps on both, which might help.)

Jay Turser JTB-134. Long scale + short body + semi-hollow + no-mass floating trapeze bridge = major dive. Still totally dig this bass, it's been waiting over 10 years for a pair of TV Jones Thundertrons... someday.

Also my Fender Kingman, which if I'm ever actually compelled to play it, also likes to dive.
