ok, so what are the lies in the post then? care to point em out?

i'll wait

actually don't bother... i've just skimmed your previous posts and there's more about politics, religion and medical ethics than there is about bass playing and music...

i think you're on the wrong forum, buddy

Coming from someone who uses the nazi epitaph on everyone he disagrees with, I can tell you have far to much wit and intelligence for me to get involved in an internet argument with. As far as my posts on other parts of this forum, I'll rest my posting history against anyone on this forum. I post on the gear and music and fields I have experience and knowledge in. It's a shame the same can't be said about your postings.:rollno:

Why is it that liberals are so against any conservative thought being voiced on air?
I'm not against it. It'd just be interesting to see Fox News admit what they are. Why the ridiculous claim of being "fair and balanced"? It's so obviously untrue, it makes them hard to take seriously. O'Reilly calls his show a "no-spin" zone, but leads off every night with his "Talking Points". Sounds like spin to me. Ridiculous.

Of course all the conservative shows are kicking @ in the ratings wars. I wonder why??
Easy answer: in the post-9/11 era, a lot of people want their news and analysis with an "America Rules" slant.

btw how's Air Amerika/Al Franken doing these days?
Air America never had a chance because, as I've already explained, progressive people don't need others to feed them their opinions. Plus, liberal talk radio is boring.. there's no screaming, and no rednecks calling in.

How long has CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN and PMSNBC been on the air? When was the last time that they admitted they were THE LIBERAL news sources? During the last campaign, CNN was the reporting arm of the DNC and actually censored stories about scandals that didn't fit their template. At least Fox reported on scandals from both sides prior to the election. CNN didn't even bother. Hell, CBS, didn't even admit it when they were using forgeries from an obvious partisan source in the middle of a presidential campaign. The problem is that compared too these guys, FOX IS the fair and balanced one.

As far the "No screaming" part, you obviously haven't listened to Air America.:D And I found the Birkenstock crowd very entertaining to listen too. The reason conservatives listen to Talk Radio is to hear the stories that CNN and the other guys censor, not to get their opinions feed to them. I already know what I believe, I would just like to hear what's going on, the major players in this country are so biased they are no longer capable of it, thats why talk radio and Fox exist. If reporters did their jobs, those guys would be unemployed.

I have no intention of getting involved in this discussion; but, I just have to say this, regarding the above comment:

You have GOT to be kidding, right?
Nope.
I've listened to righty radio, and it consists of blowhards spewing their opinions, and then listeners calling in to say how much they agree. People on that side of the political spectrum obviously need their opinions provided and/or reinforced, otherwise the medium wouldn't be so popular.

Is New Hour on PBS really a nasty liberal news show? I'm not trying to start a fight here, I'm just curious what others think.

I watch News Hour PBS because it starts at 6pm, doesn't have comercials, and doesn't have a million things on the screen at once like FOX/MSNBC/CNN always do. Have they been spinning the news though? I always thought they seemed pretty straight forward, but what do I know?

Example?

You mean stories like how Barack Obama attended a fundamentalist Muslim school as a child? That story was completely false, and yet Fox News never went on the air with a correction after John Gibson devoted most of his show to it. CNN sent a reporter to Indonesia to check out the school and see what the deal was.
Here's an example of a "story" you get on Fox News and nowhere else: yesterday morning, Fox & Friends spent all kinds of time talking about the current cover of Newsweek, which shows Ahmedinejad and Bush. Ahmedinejad has a half-cocked grin, and Bush is frowning. The airhead Fox & Friends crew deemed this "liberal bias" because Bush was frowning, and they "cleverly" bannered the story "News-weak". Of course, any person with the ability to think critically would recognize that the Newsweek cover accurately reflects the two leaders' feelings about the U.S.-Iran situation: Bush, serious and determined, and Ahmedinejad, thumbing his nose at us. Of course, that doesn't matter to Fox. As long as they've whipped the GOP base into a froth with these "stories", they've done their job.

I actually think the news segments on PBS are pretty good, and I do watch. The only thing that bugs me is that they will disingenuously recognize some of their sources. Every-time they have a conservative on, they identify them as such, fine, but they will have a representative from Families USA, they call them a "non partisan public interest group". Well, I believe that is an inadequate description considering the group was put together with the sole purpose of supporting the Clinton health care plan. That is consistent with the way most of the networks do business, but I'll give PBS points for at least trying. If your already an informed viewer, PBS is a great source. However the documentaries aired of PBS are sometimes to the left of Chairmen Mao, and would make even ABC blush.

My favorite source is Drudge, because he links to everyone. Liberals hate him because he broke Lewinsky, but he also broke many of Delays scandals. He is an equal opportunity journalist.

I watch all of them because they each have their fair share of hot chicks.:D

Seriously, I try to get info from a variety of sources, partly because its fun to see what different spins are put on issues. One thing I do on my lunch break is read the local "far-left" newspaper while listening to Rush Limbaugh, then wait for my head to explode like in Scanners.

The interesting thing I've found is that conservatives are of the opinion that CNN/MSNBC/ABC/CBS/NBC and the majority of newspapers are full of "liberal bias." Where liberals view the same networks/newspapers as being "corporate-owned" and are therefore mainstream outlets for the Bush administration. WHICH IS IT PEOPLE?

FOX makes me laugh in their refusal to just come out and say "we're the conservative network." However, CNN gets my vote as lowest of the low for asking one of my heroes, Clint Eastwood, what he thought of the death of Anna Nicole Smith.:scowl:

Conservatives wear Birkenstocks, too. With socks. :D
I'll give you this, Steve.. at least you guys have Michelle Malkin now. She is smokin'! I watch O'Reilly just to see her. Kind of eliminates the need for Ann Coulter, a.k.a. Skeletor.

Yeah, I like Coulters writing just because I love Irony, which she is great at. But, I never got the conservative lust for her. But I agree with you on Malkin, the other one I've always had the hots for was Kellyanne Conway who shows up on MSNBC and FOX.

PBS is pretty straightforward. Some of the features have a liberal slant, but they almost always get someone credible from the other side as well to provide some balance. David Brooks is a regular, and they have Republican senators and representatives on fairly regularly and actually let them talk.

My favorite thing about the News Hour is I'm not made to feel like an idiot for watching non-stop coverage of Anna Nicole Smith, etc.. They steer away from the sensationalist crap and actually spend some time covering real stories in some depth.

When I watch ANY of the cable or mainstream news I feel like my brain is shrinking from the superficiality of it all. Some of the news shows are little better than Extra! or Entertainment tonight.

I don't really care for any network, but I chose Fox as my least favorite because every time I watch it, I laugh at the newscasters' inability to speak English. On many nextworks, but Fox especially, they try to sound proper and intelligent by making everything _____ and I or ______ and he, such as: "Half of the country voted for Bush and he." Political slants don't really bother me because I know what I stand for, but I'm often quite shocked at the number of journalists who can't speak their native language.

Progressive talk radio will succeed on the day that liberals need their opinions spoon-fed to them. So far, that day hasn't arrived.
Speaking of which, I'm always amused at how Bill O'Reilly calls those he doesn't like "progressives". Umm, yeah.. I plead guilty to being progressive! I guess if you agree with O'Reilly, that makes you.. regressive?
Dave you just don't get it.

You are too condescending to realize how pompous you sound.

You will not consider for a moment that some folks HAVE ALWAYS been conservative in their polical views. You still ASSUME that conservatives are too stupid to think for themselves.

You may call yourself progressive, but you come off as insulting, pompous and boorish.

Instead, you insult the conservative-talk listener because you think that they are incapable of forming their own opinion.

FOX with CNN close behind.

Man, whoever voted for PBS has no soul...they're just trying really really hard. Imagine how difficult it would be to make a news show knowing that your budget depends on the kidness of viewers like us.
