Would a black pickguard look nice? Or should i stick with white?

My bass is almost exactly that color and came with a black pickguard. I didn't like the black on that light green; so I went on this huge pickguard website, and grabbed digital swatches of dozens of colors of their pickguards and photoshopped them onto the bass to see what it would look like. It's not actually very difficult at all. In the end I picked up two new pickguards and a second pickup cover, painted it. I swap all that out whenever I get bored.

Before and after...

The black didn't look bad, but it clashes a bit with the brown of the fretboard. Looks a bit off.
The white lit comes with looks good.
Cream, parchment, mint, pearl all looked great.

Congratulations on finding "the one"!
Yeah I kinda saw that.. almost looked a bit camo-esque right? Its really gonna depend how the bass looks in person and under light and stuff. A bunch of pics online do it no justice and it looks very faded, vs in the sunlight the green really pops.

IMO, the wood looks too light in this pic. Makes the bass look dull and gives the whole thing a different feel than the pics in the sun.

Mint, white or tort, but not black.

I would personally go with some type of tortoise color since I'm just weird like that :woot:

But............tort would be awesome. That would be the best choice hands down.

To everyone suggesting tort: I have a bunch of respect for some of those gnarly tort PG/bass color combos out there, but heres a pic of the user @Bfresh29 's sage green pbass that came with tort 2nd hand. Don't get me wrong, it looks sick, but it's just not for me or what I'm looking for on this bass. The tort takes away too much from the sage green imo, making it look a whole lot paler. I think black/white/mint/white pearl every thing in that ballpark could make the green POP! That's what I'm looking for. Still, thanks for your input! (and thanks Bfresh for the fresh pic of the pbass, sick axes! ;))

Black.

I was tempted to join the tort camp until I saw that pic in post #58. Doesn't speak to me the way tort on satin jade pearl metallic does (got the Jazz Elite with this combo... also considered switching that guard out for black, but I dig it as is).

Enjoy your new bass!
