Get a Brubaker Brute 5 string. if you don't want to spend that much get a Squire Vintage Modified Jazz Bass 5. They can be had for $305.00 to $350.00 and are very decent basses and giggable.

For me, I couldn't go with a BEAD 4. I use the G string. I was a 5 string guy for a long time. I made myself go to a 4 for a year and really liked it. I missed the low notes once in a while - but no one else did.

I bought a 5 again last month, but it is for sale. I think I'm going to get a Geddy Lee and call it good.
