Whoever did the so called upgrade sure did a crappy job IMHO. The whole site is a mess. Pretty disappointing.

Dude, its just the Xenforo forum platform. Its actually awesome at its core. This is also like Day Zero, a few hours in. Take a deep breath. It'll improve.
I run a web design agency, and I think you have no idea how difficult it must have been, since TB had not been upgraded for a long time. Especially because they have to keep a huge history of contents and feature.
As a TB user, I'm having a hard time getting used to the new features and navigation, but we will all get used to it faster than you think.
There are still some remaining bugs, it's normal, they will fix them soon.
Did it need an upgrade? What was wrong with it?
The old version was going out of support. This means the vendor would no longer issue critical fixes, e.g. for security issues. So yes, it needed to be upgraded to stay secure and under support. This is how software works.
Let's not all kneejerk here. Yes, it doesn't look or feel like it used to but we will get used to it. All the features we need and use are still there and don't take any more clicks to use.
I think of it like when they rearrange the aisles at the grocery store. We're a little discombobulated at first, but after a few times going up and down the aisles, it becomes old hat.

It's only forward from here. If you have specific suggestions, please post in a new thread. This platform is a must, Xenforo 1.5 reach EOL years ago. But we can tweak it.
Someone needs to make a database of all the people who are complaining about the new look and feel, and see if its the same individuals who are stuck on a 4-string p-bass as the only real bass. I'll bet its the same exact people.
False. “New posts” is now two clicks (on mobile, at least).

I have noticed the site is VERY slow to load pages. Hopefully that gets resolved as well.
Dang, I was just coming back here to post the very same thing. It is wallowing a bit. I'm thinking it's still in the early stages before it becomes a bit smoother.

I totally understand why you guys had to upgrade, but I actually avoided the other “bass forums” that had already upgraded because of the new lay out.

Forgot to add, I miss the little lightning bolt on the top left-hand side that brought you to new post. That was very convenient.

My favorite change is the one done to the "Most Likes" database. It's now changed to "Highest Reaction Score".
It's funny. I mean, what if your goal is not to get likes, but just to get a rise out of people? Wouldn't that also constitute getting a High Reaction Score too?

At least I immediately found the switch to turn on the dark theme, so it's not as bad as it could have been.
Well, at least there are cat emojis now.
