X3L and...??

Did my searches and a lot of reading here.

Guitarist new to Bass and getting ready to buy some bass amplification.

I have an X3L and a Blues Deluxe Reissue for the guitar side of life, and have to say that the preamp section of my real amp does not see much use.

Looking at a similar situation in a Bass amp, what are some considerations or experiences. I am looking at the Carvin combo's based on the BX500. 2 options are available the 1x15 and the 2x10.

Anybody with thoughts on what would be a better choice when running preamp modeling? Is one more "flat" or less "coloring" than the other?

I am not 100% sure what you are asking. Are you saying that you are planning to pick up a Carvin combo with the intent of using an external pre-amp modeler, and wondering which of those two cabs would be flatter or more appropriate for that purpose?

maybe change the title to Carvin Cab experts? or something like 'help me choose a cab?' I am guessing (and could be 100% wrong) that people here are thrown by the thread title....

I am not familiar with those cabs...if I was looking for power and speakers for a pre-amp modeler I would think about a power amp + cab - or even a nice powered speaker....
