Xbox 360 vs. PS3

Well its really a YMMV thing. If you don't keep game saves, or get DLC or expansions, then you might be okay, and you can always get a jump drive to add space if you need to.
But I like to keep my saves, and I've got a lot of rockband track packs and things, so mine filled up pretty quick.
Resurrecting this thread because I voted xbox, but have changed my mind. My xbox gave me the "red ring of death" e74 (you're screwed) error message the other day, after 3 1/2 years. That was conveniently out of warranty.
I borrowed my brother's PS3 for a while, and I love it (except for the controller). It's quieter, faster, and I'm playing online for free (and I don't see what's so bad about the PS3's online gaming).
I'm officially done with Microsoft. Windows is a POS, and the xbox is a POS.

we have both and the PS3 has been used less and less for gaming and more for blue-ray. titles look and play better on Xbox to us.
Xbox is the better console for online gaming. A feature I could give a crap about. PS3 is what I desire because you can't GT5 on the xbox,...but you can get NHL11 on both consoles. Those are the only two games I would require.
I think the PS3 is a little more robust and less prone to failure. I used my PS2 a lot for DVDs, something that is apparently abusive to the drives. It still worked (albeit a little slow in it's old age) up until I sold it last year,...I'd rather have a dedicate BluRay player at this point. Xbox is after all a microsoft product.

I think I am done with xbox as well. I got mine fixed by a friend at work but it will only last until the RROD comes back...and it will.
He said some of the soldered connections had melted and that is why it died. He re-soldered, cleaned it up and that is all it needed. But it works great again for my nephews. They like the fact that they got an xbox 360 for free.

I've had both. A while back I would have said Xbox due to the fact that Xbox had some cool games that were just not available on Playstation. But now I don't think that's the case anymore. 98% of the games available on Xbox are available on the PS3 as well. I don't play online so I can't help you there. I'm partial to Sony, so I'd say Playstation.
I got a ps3. I use it for netflix and a game once in a while. I am a PC gamer so exclusives don't really matter for me. Of the 360 I tried I found that I preferred the ps3 controllers. The 360 controllers just seemed too bulky. While the ps3 controllers were slender.
I don't like the PS3. The controllers feel like cheap, plastic junk and I don't like their buttons or control sticks.
As far as the "exclusive" games - well, I'm a Halo fan. There aren't any exclusive games on PS3 that I feel are better than the Xbox equivalents. Also, Kinect has been released now. That thing looks great.

However, coming down to consoles, I'd go with the PS3.
Free online play (and have never had any issues, so not seeing why XBox would be better for it?).

Much lower failure rate too.
I dare say a lot of it comes down to what platforms your friends play and what exclusive games you want to play (Halo certainly wouldn't pull me over to the 360, the first one was good, after that, meh!)
