I'm extremely happy with the sound and response of the KappaLite 3015 in the 215CF cabinet. It is slightly less aggressive than the 212CF, which I think is a good thing as I anticipate the Xsonics 215CF to absolutely be a single cabinet soultion and played pretty loud (why bring a 2-15" to be quiet?!). I threw an Ampeg SVT-4 Pro bridged (1200 watts @ 4 ohms) at the 215CF and was able to run the amplifier wide open, which I've never done in 16 years and 2,000 gigs with the Ampeg SVT-4 Pro. The cabinet didn't even break a sweat. It's like a sledgehammer wrapped in velvet! Powerful but smooth.

Ok , as some of you know I traded my fEarful 15/6/1 to Kringle77 and got his 212CF . I loved the fEarful tone and volume and still do , it's an amazing cab . When I used it live at big shows with or without the 15 sub I had it filled the stage and had the sound guy wanting me to turn down . I also got from the sound guy that the sound I got from my stage rig almost matched what was coming out of the FOH and he had never heard that before . This result even though I gave him pre EQ from my Ampeg SVP-CL pre . I know that the design goal of the fEarfuls is just what I was getting from my cabs , a small light cab that has incredible low end, great mid dispersion and able to take EQ very well .

That being said I'm still 61 years old and even though my 15/6/1 cab is only about 50 pounds I'd still have a bit of trouble getting it up and down stairs . When I read all the stuff about the Xsonics 212CF I thought maybe it might work for me . Having a cab that only weighs 40 pounds and is only slightly bigger than a 112 cab and will work in a loud rock band was very apealing to me . I also know enough about cab design to know that a full size cab ported right with a good waveguide and compression driver and the right crossover would be ideal for the 3012HO drivers in this cab . This has been done already with reported great results by a Talkbasser who has contibuted to this thread already . For me this would put me right back to having a 50 to 60 pound full size cab and I would be no better off than I was with my15/6/1 and lose a little bit of low end to boot . I'd still be carrying a bigger cab .

I got to try this cab out tonight with my band .The 212CF is a little cab that can still kick like a mule while still being very small and portable . It sacrifices a bit of output and real deep low end to a full size properly tuned cab but still has a great tone . It does have the low mid bump like the Edens but still stays tight down low and even though it rolls of below low E it still sounds deeper than any other small cab I've heard that puts out this kind of volume . I think the mids are great , they do remind me of my old Eden 210XLT cabs but this one cab at 40 pounds puts out about as much volume as the pair of Eden 210 cabs and each one of them was 68 pounds . I love this cab with my band . Kringle77 and Dennis have made some great videos that pretty much capture the basic tone of them and what I hear playing with my band confirms what I thought at home playing it . It cuts through great and keeps up easy . I'm happy .

By the way RIP Alvin Lee . We do some of his tunes including "I'm going home" and I have loved his playing since I was a kid .

I dig your video. It really shows what these cabs are about. The 215 is articulate, and definitely sounds like it has a certain presence that would work for a lot of folks. I preferred the sound of the tube channel, and the cab on its side. I bet the Streamliner would be a good pairing with the tight low end of this cab as well.
