Yamaha 18V?

Hi there

I own a Yamaha TRB1006, would the pickups and preamp handle 18V? i'd quite like a bit more power
I am assuming that you need a bigger voltage swing, to avoid clipping, or to drive an amp harder. There are two main issues that you need to consider.

1) Are the electronic components likely to be overstressed by the increased voltage? Probably not, since 18 volts is not that high, and none of the devices should be anywhere near their heat dissipation limits.

2) Is there a down side to increasing the voltage? Possibly, since the electronics has been designed for 9 volts, running at 18 volts may affect the biasing of the transistors, giving increased hiss.
