Did you just get the Relentless middle (P) pickup or do you also order a Relentless neck pickup? I only ask because the Relentless neck pickup is dimensionally much deeper than the OEM pup and will not fit without removing some wood from then neck.

Just the middle.

Although a fantastic pickup, the benefits of the Relentless neck pickup are just not worth the amount of modification involved to make it fit. I’d be worried with that much mass being taken out of the neck. There is more output but that can be solved with more volume and eq. Sometime down the road, I plan to make a Fender P “Sister” for a backup, that would make an excellent application for that.

With rare exceptions, and I’ve heard him say he did swap one, most pictures of Billy I’ve seen shows only the middle P swapped.

I have tried the two in one out trick, but that was on “The Ultimate” blue pedal. I was running through the headphone jack on the amp to mid quality headphones. Could not get the distortion smooth enough for my taste, but it’s prolly the headphones.

Been having fun just acoustically. It’s in the shop with Ampturco right now getting them soldered in.

Does anyone know if the spoke wheel truss rod adjustment on this bass is going to make it on the production model? It’s been a while since we’ve seen any updates on the Attitude basses.

If anyone from Yamaha is reading, a re-release of an updated Attitude Special would also be awesome…

I know the Attitude Specials weren’t built with the same quality of parts as the more expensive Attitudes, but has anyone experienced this before?

The bridge plate is definitely bending under string tension.
Does anyone know if Yamaha sells Attitude 3 bridges as spare parts and would it be a direct replacement on a Special?

I would think that emailing this photo to Yamaha would make them willing to sell you a replacement, if not straight up sending you one for free, regardless of whether or not they normally would sell them. In my experience their customer service has been pretty good

Anyone know the model # for a bass Yamaha made with the same Attitude shape/headstock/etc. but only 1 single P type pickup? They just say YAMAHA on the headstock, 1 vol 1 tone, simple pickguard....NOT an RBX etc. It's definitely a stripped down P-bass in Attitude form.

PSA: If anyone in the Phoenix,AZ area is interested in a Yamaha Attitude Special, there is a blue on listed in FB marketplace. No affiliation

I was there last week on a business trip. Unfortunately, I was only there for a day and didn’t have any down time to check it out. Looks to be in great condition based on the pics.
