I'm surprised to see a single neck pickup - those are always not-for-everything.

Although not my style at all, I would have a hard time parting with it myself, because it is super cool in a Rick and Morty sort of way. Plus it was made in Japan, that's points right there.

I'm surprised that nobody has suggested a split pickup for it. Seems perfect for a banana bass. It would give it a nice smoothie tone.

Definitely a quirky, cool old bass! But I get it, if it's not working for you and you won't play it, why keep it around? Not everyone is a collector. Try the flats, if that doesn't work move it along. It will eventually find a good home.

I know that this is very much a matter of personal taste, but I don't think I'd ever part with that thing if I could get even a half decent sound out of it. What kind of tone are you getting out of that neck pickup? I'm assuming it's a single coil?

Yeah Its a single coil and I can get a pretty unique sound out of it that might become useful!

That is a really cool instrument. Looks like it's missing a tug bar or two, but the knobs are present and the logo on the pickguard and the pickguard it'self are in great shape, so that's very good to see.

I think there is actually some serious resale for certain MIJ instruments and IIRC, the banana instruments fetch a good price. They seem to sell for $600 and up, so if you aren't in love with it's I'd sell it on to someone who will love it and buy somethig you do want.

Well in Australia where I am located these seem to be rarer and i can only find two that have been sold online and they both went for around $1000, so i guess around $700 in America atm. The higher holes for the tub bar is original but did not come with the bar lower two arent original, but its cool to see one with the bridge cover and knobs intact!

Do you have any recommendations?? Im not to familiar with single coils of that size!
