Yamaha BB-415 or Cort GB75

I can't comment on the BB-415 specifically (but I have 2 Yamaha's MIJ BB NE2 & an MII RBX 800a) - they're both good - the NE2 is VERY good!

I also have a Cort GB75 & it's a fantastic bass for the money - Ash body, Hipshot Lic tuners - decent bridge (I think the PU's & electronics are Mighty Mite - but not horrible)... It can't compete with my MIJ Nathan East - but at about 1/4 the cost, the Cort is awesome...

Sorry I'm not much help - I'd get one of each...

I don't think you can go wrong - they're both underrated basses & good value IMHO...

P.S. - the new GB75's are Made in Indonesia as well....

In general, anything these days that comes out of Japan is very high quality. Overall higher than Indonesia, Korea, etc.

That said, I have been very, very impressed with all of the import basses I have played lately. Everyone seems to have stepped up quality.

It's hard to say who makes the Yamaha basses at any given time. Yamaha is a marketing company, not a manufacturer, so the Yamaha and the Cort could be coming from the same place.

Both are good, solid, bang-for-buck brands at that price point. Pick the one that speaks to you.
