That's a REALLY good question! I'll bet a two-piece body resonates better than a three-piece body as well.

Will the lower cost BB1024s and BB1025s be available in the U.S.? Anybody hear anything about that? Will the BB414 be replaced by the upgraded BB424?

Looks like the BB425 is replacing the BB415 (5 string versions). The only major differences I can see is the finish colors, and stringers in the neck.

Both front and rear pickups on the BB2025X bass guitar are specially invented for this particular series.

Nickel Silver is selected for nut. It is the same material with fret wires.

Nice looking bass, but very pricy IMO FWIW....

It's not really mass produced. It's just made by a huge corporation in small numbers. Fender Custom Shop is he same deal.

I have not played a new BB2025, but they cost about $2200.00 apiece more than the current cheaper BB series which play and sound darn well. I wonder just how much "BETTER" the new fancy one is?

I'm not sure about the exact models, but I've talked to a Yamaha rep, and Yamaha is planning on releasing a BB series bass on three different levels with pickguards (BB2025x, already released; BB series bass in the 1500-2000 dollar range; and one offered in the below 1000 dollar range). I'm uber excited!!

I also found that you can order the 1025x's from canada for about $1125 US. NICE!
