Yamaha BB425X

I thought you were getting a Diamond P 5

Well that is a good question. I had ordered one and they were back ordered to come in on 3/25. Last week I spoke to MF and they told me that they pushed it back to 4/25. And they where not even sure they would come in then. So I decided to go with my original choice the Yamaha. I felt that a higher power (Bass God ) wanted me to get the Yamaha :).

So after playing the BB425X for a while I have to say I really like the bass. Fit and finish is top notch. You can get a lot of tones out of this bass. It does have a hot output. The neck just feels great with that unfinished feel. It came with a nice low setup and strung with A'ddario's. These are not my cup of tea. I would need to restring it with my favorites GHS Boomers.

I need to spend more time playing with the different tones. I do have a few questions.

1. Can you adjust the bridge pickup height?

2. While going over the bass with a microscope I found a tiny hair line crack on the body near the neck pocket. Maybe 2mm or smaller you can't even feel it. You would never see it unless you held it in the light in the right angle. Something to worry about or am I being to anal?

The bass and the hair crack.
