Yamaha BBNE2 - Nathan East sig. model

I have a white Nathan East bass. It is a KILLER bass!! It has a LOT of flexibility tonally and is a joy to play and look at. The bass features neck through construction, 24 frets, ebony fingerboard, pearloid tuning keys, gold hardware, active JJ pickups, 3 band equalizer, and the black knob and switch which is the Nathan East parametric equalizer. The switch turns it on or off and the black knob dials in the frequency you want to accent, or remove.

i played the older model before and it was awesome.. plays really nice and sounds great. another consideration is the john patitucci model.. great tone with the stacked humbuckers. yamaha basses are great! i love mine and would buy another really easily

The white is stunning, yet I've never seen a pic of it in black.

If I recall, the black model does NOT have the pearloid tuning keys.
I believe the black model has gold tuning keys. I AM partial to black myself, but the white model of this bass I thought had a touch more class.

I agree, I love the white too. The black to me looks like "just another bass". I find the pearloid tuners REALLY set this one apart from the crowd.

I have owned my BBNE2 Nathan East Signature Model - Amber Burst - 5 string bass since some time in early 2001, maybe before that. The earliest pic i can find is me playing it on St. Pats Day 2001. Any way, this is by far the one of the most versatile basses i've ever played. The active preamp is ridiculous in this puppy....amazing.

Yes it's heavy(if i remember correct i wanna say about 13lbs ), but i can't find anything that i like more than it. String spacing is a bit wide, but it's my main bass and i'm used to it. the only time i notice is when i play something else and come back to it.

Recording with this bass is a pleasure...getting the right tone is effortless - usually i go direct and then maybe add some compression. But people always comment on the tone.

I own a Nathan East signature white BBNE2. I have had it since new sometime in 2005-2006 ish. It gradually replaced every bass I had been gigging in different groups. (Country bands, r&b horn bands, top 40, church etc...) It took me a little time to get used to the new string spacing and body position, but once I got comfortable with it the game was over. I found I could authentically play anything from country to fusion to pop to Motown on this one bass. It even rocks out pick style exceptionally well when the tune begs for it. I can tell you with confidence that you will certainly be very happy with the bass if you buy it. Keep in mind that it plays nothing like a fender. It sits differently on your my body than a fender does and it took a little bit of adjustment. Nothing bad, just different. I have tried to go back to some of my modern American and vintage fender basses from time to time but my hands and ears just miss the Nathan when I do. I would buy another one. Every single sound guy I have played under absolutely loves it. 5*'s love it #mymainaxe

Wow! Reading this post again has made me realize that the BBNE2 has been my main bass for 20 years!! I still absolutely love it! That's just WILD! Lol.
