Yamaha PB400RA opinions

Hi everyone, please excuse me if there is such thread in existence here already but I couldn't find one.

I have an opportunity to purchase such instrument for quite a good price. It is supposedly from the 80s but no exact year on it. Painted neck & headstock, other than that looks like a normal P bass.
There seems to be a fair amount of coverage on the Yamaha's BB basses but nowhere near as much on the PBs. I know 80s Yamaha is supposed to be good build quality, but does anyone have any experience with that particular model? How would it compare with, say a modern-ish MIJ and MIM Fenders and 70s and 80s Fernandes?

If I am not mistaken, you are talking about the Pulser Bass, Yamaha's 70's and 80's take on the Precision.

Unfortunately, I do not have first-hand experience. But I'd love to change that; Pulsers are cool, IMHO, and quite well regarded (like the builds by Fernandes, Greco and Tokai). Unfortunately, prices are on the rise...

There are a couple of Pulsers on TalkBass, maybe their owners could chime in?

Yeah I guess it's the same as a pulser although it does not say pulser but PB400RA on the headstock, but yeah in both cases it's just a P-bass by Yamaha.
