I'm into metal and I want a bass guitar to start recording some stuff. I am not a bass player, but a guitar player. So I am between this two basses. Which one would you people pick and why?

Yamaha RBX 375 or Schecter Stiletto Extreme 5

I've got a Yamaha RBX 375, and it's an excellent, but somewhat uninspiring bass. The Schecter is (at least here) a bit more expensive, particularly since the Yamaha seems to be on a permanent sale. But it looks a little more inspiring. Other than that only your own ears and hands can judge this for you.
What do you mean by "inspiring"? I mean, why would the Yamaha not be inspiring? It surelly looks as kick ass as the Schecter, if that's what you mean. (menar du "inspirerande"?)

By uninspiring I mean that I just see a black slab. Shiny for sure, but still all black. There's no telling if it's made from plastic, wood or concrete other than weight.
Stupid me sold a beautiful Aria Pro II just to get a 5 string bass, and now I've come to realize I'm a natural wood kind of guy for instruments.
