Hi is the gold hardware on the white 305 stock?? I haven't seen one about with gold hardware...

Sorry, the stock hardware is like a pewter or black chrome type color. The gold hardware is all aftermarket hardware.
Well after 4 different basses 4 43mile trips each way to the shop and back I finally got one that is properly functioning. Turns out it was in the pick ups the glue they use in the pickups was getting in between the contaks and causing issues, I'm guessing a mess up in quality control at the factory. I'm glad to finally have it though just sucks I had to go through all that. It was maddening cause no one else had this issue I was the first but it took Yamaha shipping out three different basses after my first to believe me there was an actual issue. But with the last one they had someone go over it at Yamaha and then the guy at the shop did the same. Usually when there's an issue with anything you can find others who had similar problems and possible solutions but hopefully yahmah fixes whatever there doing wrong so no one else has to deal with all that.
Finally got the replacement and I'm happy to say it's knot-free. A shoutout to Rachel @ Geartree Corporate who had everything ready for me.
Hey guys...I've recently tried out a yamaha trbx304 and a trbx505 and they sounded pretty cool. I do like the sound quality of both basses. what I like about these basses is it's versatility. the 5-way tone switch on the trbx304/305 adds more character to the bass. I'm also intrigued by the active/passive switch on the trbx505. I've noticed when it's in passive mode, it sounds pretty punchy. and when it's in active mode, it sounds as smooth, warm, and punchy as an Ibanez sr505. since I am impressed with the sound quality of these basses, I am considering purchasing either the yamaha trbx305 or the trbx505. depending on my budget. either one, I would like to purchase a yamaha bass sometime soon.

I really like the 305, and will probably buy a 505 in the not too distant future. The white one with gold is sweet! What is the aftermarket hardware that replaced the original stuff?
Considering the Yamaha price/quality ratio I'd love to see them release a fretless version as well, I'd buy one sight unseen. Guess that's not gonna happen though.

Nice.....I wish they had white in stock when I got mine. Then again if I had gotten white I would probably wish I had the brown one......

Hey guys...I've recently bought a yamaha trbx305 in a black finish. looking forward to it's arrival. I've tried out the trbx304 at a guitar center about 3 months ago I do like the sound quality. it's such a cool sounding bass. it has a beefy and punchy sound. not to mention that it sounds pretty cool with effects. it's definitely suitable for metal. \m/ I'm looking forward to it's arrival.
My yamaha bass has arrived earlier today and it sounds totally awesome. I tested the bass out with my zoom b3 and it sounded really cool with effects. it sounds beefy and punchy. kinda like a p-bass in someways. this one's a keeper in my arsenal.
