The two pictured on the floor have upgraded preamps from stock, so extra switches. They also both have wooden thumbrests.

What preamps , if ya don't mind my asking? and what made ya choose them?

I dig the thumbrests too.. how did you affix them?

The SR480 were all mahogany bodied P/J basses, first with an oil finish and later with a thin stained lacquer finish like on the SR500 line. Mine has the oil finish, so I re-oil it here and there. I replaced the pickups with Dimarzio Model P/J pups and it sounds great!

I use Audere preamps on my basses. Active volume (so no tone change when you turn down), active blend for true panning, and I prefer the EQ points. Plus, they're cheaper than any big name preamp maker and come fully wired.

I made the thumbrests myself out of rosewood or flamed maple and stuck them on with white foam mounting tape.

Okay that makes sense now, I figured it would have their DX pickups so the exposed poles threw me off. I don't think I've ever seen an oil stained one, it looks good!

I had an Ibanez SR4XXV for a while. It was as good as my SR1205e, which has been my go-to for the last 3 or 4 years now. Fantastic basses at the price point, even better if you can get one used.
I snagged the SR4XXV on Guitar Center's used site for around $400. Flipped it for about $650. But this was a few years ago when I was furiously buying and selling basses. Once I got my 1205, it was the end of the story for me.

Anyways, nice trio! Ibanez ftw.
