Yeah, pretty much this, exactly.

One of my proudest accomplishments was proving #8 ("but when you break a string, EVERONE notices") wrong - I once broke a string playing DB in a trio once, and the singer who was standing right next to me didn't notice anything for about two songs, and then only noticed me pulling out the remnants between songs. I did get bad cramps with a few songs left in the gig from all the flying around the fingerboard between the G and A strings, but up until that point apparently I managed to sound like nothing was wrong.

A guy at my work does that every time I bring up my band. F**kin a**hole!

Yea he sounds like D*** lol. Anyone who says that apparently has no idea the bass even exists unless its being slapped. I also have an acquaintance who gives me poopie everytime I play asking "how many times did you slap during the show". I respond with "zero" and he shakes his head. This is also the same guy that gives me poopie for playing a four string bass. Ignoramus.

I laugh all the time. You know the expression, "its funny 'cuz its true?"

This one is not true for me at all! Nobody ever slags me off for playing bass. Honest!

I laugh at things that aren't true all the time. Like animals in people clothes, that's hilarious to me. It never gets old, and it's definitely not because I think that a potbelly pig might actually try to perform surgery or do some killer detective work.
