I'd like to see a 24-fret model as well. If they just came out with a Vintage 5-string I would be a little disappointed.

I'd like to see a 24-fret model as well. If they just came out with a Vintage 5-string I would be a little disappointed.

seems to me like suhr is more a guitar builder (landau, hoekstra, henderson) than a bass builder. nevertheless, if his basses are anything like his guitars they will indeed be something special. now cater more to us please 
IMO- if you have a passive switch, you definitely need a tone control (why I stacked the vol). Actually I use the tone when in active mode and it makes a huge difference. Also, I could be wrong on the exact spec...but when I got my bass I think it had 500k pots. Very hot and a bit brittle and zingy (still awesome though..). When I decided to add the passive switch I changed the pots to 250k to mellow it out a bit and it sounds much more fender.
Wish John would do a 5 but I personally want a more vintage one...his standard J is just so happening that I would want exactly that in a 5. The 4 is one of the best deals out there...on top of bring one if the best basses.

I have it on good authority that there will be more Suhr owners joining the ranks soon . 
Chills the Chardonnay...Has anyone noticed something slightly unusual about Suhr's two band preamp? When I was playing one in a store I got the impression that the bass control adds a lot of gain as well as just boosting the bass frequencies. It almost behaves like guitar mid-boost 
I guess that's what a bass boost is suppose to do: "add gain" to the bass frequencies. I'm sure some mids are boosted as well in the process.

If you get the chance, play one. I had the pleasure not long ago. I was thinking, oh great, another jazz bass. Then I played it. WOW! The best J-bass I've played. The pick ups and the preamp have really got some mojo.

Well I actually started out making more basses than anything else. Currently I agree our offerings are slim for bass players but we will change that very soon. Currently we are only an original J shape and thickness with vintage radius. OK.... so tell me what you guys want to see in the basses.
It is a broad 2 band, the same frequencies I have used since the PS days and the bass is the same as the old TCT but a hair lower. There is a lot of boost on tap, +-20db. You should never actually need all that but it is there for fun.
Oh man...please don't do a 35" scale! Since you're doing the vintage thing stick to a 34" scale. It's been proven time and again that a great low B can be done with a 34" scale.
...and sell your 3band preamp publicly. I love that preamp.
I'd like to see a modern 5, similar to the Suhr modern guitars, where there are more pickup options, (like soapbars / dual coils), a smaller body, and more frets (either 24 or 22). Something like that would absolutely make my decade! Oh, please don't make the 5's scale a mandatory 35" like so many builders do today.
I own 3 suhr 4 strings, would order a 5 right now if it was offered. Personally, I want a 5 exactly pike the 4. 34" a must, same radius/spacing etc...

Another thing I really wish my Suhr had is a passive tone option. In other words, pull the treble knob up and it becomes a passive tone.
