Yet another former guitarist

Greetings!

I am new to bass guitar but not entirely new to music. I played guitar seriously for maybe about 10 years altogether, starting over 30 years ago but then being on-and-off with several years-long gaps in between during which I barely played at all. I had a bass for a long time, but I only really picked it up a year and a half ago, mainly because I had the Rocksmith software, which I found horrible as a guitarist, until I tried to use it with the bass and got hooked. I am trying to get more serious with the bass, but I am not fooling myself... between two jobs, family and some necessary weekly sports, the time I can spend practicing is minimal. But I am not in a rush :) I am currently participating in organizing a music rehearsal room at our office, and looking forward to start gaining some practical bass experience that at least is not in front of a PC.

My favourite music genres are classic and progressive rock. My current bass targets (not saying I'm close enough) are a bit varied: Foo Fighters, Lenny Kravitz, Jethro Tull, Thin Lizzy, Kings of Leon, as well as many specific songs of the 70s-90s eras.
