Yet another POS Squier Build

Thanks, The E string had a very bad buzz when played open so I did give the truss rod a 1/2 turn and it is gone. Still have to do a proper setup on it, but the tone pot makes a humming sound when on, when off it goes away. When I touch the knob, or bridge it goes away. So I have to take it apart and check the ground. I put the new ground wire in the little groove under the bridge. It may not be making good contact with the bridge. I will check that first before I take the pick guard off.

If the hum goes away when you touch the bridge, then the bridge is grounded properly. You have a shielding problem, not a ground problem.

OK, last entry from me for this thread. I got the wiring straightened out and did a full setup on it. Messed with it and got the action nice and low with no buzz. Took it to band practice last night and jammed all evening with it. Plays and sounds great. Love the SPB2 pickup.
In bright light it looks like a dark wine color. In dimmer light it looks black. All in all I am very happy with it, I had fun learning some new skills, and am under $150 for the whole thing including the original $60 purchase price. And it has a hard shell case:) Thanks for all the help and encouragement. On to the next project!
