You’re All To Blame for This

Since I started checking in with TalkBass a couple months ago, I have

1) bought three basses (Reverb, TB, and local pawn shop)

2) took the neck off the pawn shop one and built a new bass with a body and parts that I purchased

3) replaced the pickup in a P

4) ordered 2 custom pickguards for a vintage Mustang, and

5) sent a body and neck off to MJT for refinishing.

To an already cluttered house, I've added a box of soldering stuff. This weekend I'm researching how to age pickup mounting screws.

All of this is on all y'all. And you will be hearing from my wife.

(Also, I just wanted to leave this here in case I disappear.)

For the pickup screws, try fuming them. I'd first try suspending them over some vinegar in a sealed plastic container overnight. If that does not do it for you, you can also try the same thing but with ammonia. (Don't mix them and wash in between!) I've also fumed parts over muriatic acid, but most people already have vinegar and ammonia.
