You can't make this stuff up ... CL

When people contact me about adopting, I require that they come visit the shelter first. If the noise and mess doesnt drive them off, we can start to talk.

I play flute and sax. I lived in New Zealand for a while and a girlfriend had a parrot. They are very smart and interesting. They are almost like having a two or three year old human child around in terms of how smart they are and how much they understand and how much attention they want. You can take a Parrot out for a walk and they seem to understand when you talk to them better than any dog or cat does.

I used to play my sax for her parrot and he would dance around and strike hilarious poses and it was great fun. If I lived anywhere near that CL ad, I'd go over once or twice for an hour or two and play music and hang out with a parrot just for the hell of it.

OK ... sorry to derail ... back to what an idiot the CL parrot guy must be. I do love the bagpipes for a squirrel posts though - brilliant!

Some animals are indeed a lot smarter than one might suspect. A cat we used to co-own (if you know what i mean) which we called the C.I.A. Cat for certain reasons said "hello" to me once. It tried three times, each attempt becoming more intelligible until on the third try, out it came, an unmistakable "hello". At that point it was obvious the little critter had tried two previous times, and knew it had failed. A few years later I looked into this online and found other similar reports where cats had spoken simple words to their (ostensible) owners.

Well, I can't play flute, but I do love parrots, fried or broiled

With dash of paprika
That's disgusting! What kind of a low life miscreant are you? I can't believe you'd say something so offensive on TB. You have totally ruined my day.
Nobody puts paprika on parrots. Parrots should always be served with chutney sauce!
