I always assume that the audience is smart enough to know bad sound from good sound. A lot of musicians like to assume the audience is dumb, but that's never been my MO.Would that be non bass players sir?

A good bass player can make just about anything sound good and I would wager a large sum of money that the average person sitting in the audience could not identify an Ampeg SVT over a Behringer that was mixed in with guitars, drums and vocals I could be wrong but I've been to tons of live performances and I've yet to hear "The bass player sounds like crap I bet he has a Behringer"

But I bought this after shearing a knob off of my Genz Benz GBE-750 (Not knocking GB!! It was totally my fault!), so I needed a back up amp!
Since then, my GB got stolen, I had an Ampeg SVT-III, and a Markbass! They all sounded better than this amp, but both blew really easily. I am trying to gather them cash to fix the MArkbass right now (Bought it second hand, and it's out of warranty, so I'll have to pay)
So, I know Behringer isn't great, but the damn thing is the most consistently reliable amp I've ever owned! It's been dropped, kicked, thrown around, the only thing that has ever happened is there is a small chip in the ABS plastic case, and some of the paint has rubbed off the footswitch!
I'm not trying to convince anyone, cause I hate the sound of the damn thing...... But I just think this thing deserved it's props!

What happened to blow those amps up? Your thread says 2 blew up and you sheared the knob off the GB?? I have owned very little Behringer, but at the same time, I have played since I was 17 and I am 41 now. I only had one amp "blow" on me that whole time, and it was defective from the beginning and had to be replaced under warranty. All other brands have been pretty much reliable, as long as I took care of them.

This.
I've been playing bass since the early 80's. I've never 'blown' an amp, and I've used a whole pile of them in that time. Albeit, I've never dropped, kicked or otherwise treated my stuff poorly. It sounds to me like there's a single common denominator in this situation.
