you know your a pedal head if --

...if you catch yourself standing over your pedal area, staring at the floor, admiring and imagining. Then, you walk away and you find yourself back in the area 1 minute later, staring at the floor, admiring and imagining. You say OK, I'm done and you leave. You don't remember how you got there, but you find yourself back in the area 1 minute later, staring at the floor, admiring and imagining. This time when you walk away, you get a great idea about LOOPING (for some reason) and you find yourself back in the area, admiring.......and on.....and on. How many laps can you do?
Lots!

Cheers,
Neal.

Congrats Grygrx!

You might need your own thread now: "You know you're a fuzz-head if..."

You ever print out the manual for a pedal or effects switcher or whatever..
...that you don't currently own?...

Nope, I'm not a pedal head. Not me. I don't print 'em, I just download the PDF pedal-manuals and stick 'em in my "Pedals" folder.

You know you're a pedal head if ...

... you keep your pedal board, and the pedals that don't fit on it, next to your bed (bonus pedal-head points if you've got a significant other that tolerates this habit).

... your cats use your unused or half-unplugged patch cables as cat-toys, no matter how much you chase them away. (no wonder my patch cables never work properly).

... your constant pedalboard re-arranging/planning actually improves your Tetris high-score.

... you carry spare 9-volts even when you aren't around your pedals, aren't going to be around your pedals or anybody else's pedals... but, "you never know, just in case..."

... for months/years your iPad/iPhone/similar device has pedal-simulation software(s) even though you don't have the physical interface to connect your bass, 'cause you might get that dongle-doohicky thing... some day.

you know your a pedalhead...

...if you keep a list of all the effects you're going to buy in the near future

...if start recearhing for new effects soon after you just bought one and wonder what a great effect could go with that one.

...if you don't play all day but turn up your pedalboard, stomp all the effects on just to see the wonderful light that warms your heart. (even more if you turn the lights off:D)

...when your homepage on your browser is either craigslist or TB-effect
That first one hits home so strongly for me.

Hah! I totally did this today. Back and forth from my computer to my pedal board. Scrutinizing space, effects types... contemplating replacements, new builds.... ugh, it's an illness.

But at least it's a creative illness!

I have a detailed account of every effect I've ever tried/owned/borrowed, complete with price I paid/sold and full retail value... and of course a brief description of what the effects sound like and my impression of each with my gear.
I have an updated list in my profile here, just so I can look at it in another place, and share my illness with like minded cats.

Total pedal head!

This defines my life since I moved into a house remote enough to actually have a music room with all my gear set up. Before that else laps to the practice space were kinda long....

If you own more pedals than the local music store has on display

or, and as a consequence

Know more about the pedals than the local music store sales person and laugh internally when you hear their bs sales pitch's to customers

Or

You have a pedal board for home practice, a pedal board for band practice and gigs, and a backup for all of that.

Or

If you have bought and sold so many pedals that you forgot you actually owned one until you see another for sale or see one mentioned online somewhere

I've done/do ALL of this. I always have 9v's and i power my board with power supplies. You just never know!! And my girl is a saint for putting up with all my pedal antics/addiction. Plus the money that it took/takes to feed it. And no matter how much I've chased my cat away, he always seems to find another patch somewhere somehow. So true to the whole statement you made ferel. Wow. I feel ya.

Haha I'm not even a fuzz guy (STILL!!!!) and I've wanted one of those since forever.

...if your birthday is coming up and your wife (who knows nothing about pedals) randomly sends you the entire Thomann pedal catalog and says "pick what you really want"

And yet you know that Thomann doesn't carry what you really want....

...You enjoy looking at pedal gut shots, and you get more than a little excited, sweaty palms etc, when you see something like JohnK's Foundry:

... if you open up every pedal you buy hoping to find something like this ^, yet are completely crushed if you find something like this:
